Omaha Mall Shooting

Mall Gunman

Woo-hoo!  Hometown proud!  ](*,)

Giant douche bag opens fire and kills a few shoppers just down the street from where I'm sitting.  What a stud, but at least he killed himself and saved us the court and jail costs.  It's too bad the ass clown didn't start at the bottom of his list, then he needn't have worried about the rest of the list.

scary stuff. I used to live within walking distance of Westroads. Now I'm Downtownish - and my mom was worried about crime down here -_-;

I had a couple friends who worked there, but not anymore. lucky them.

but what's this about a list?

One of us should have shot up a mall years ago, the day they stopped carrying Turbo Grafx games.

I'm not sure any store at westroads ever carried tg16 games. The only chain I know of locally that carried 'em was toys r us, which westroads never had.

Did JCPenny ever carry them? did EB exist at the time, and were they there?

KayBee Toys had them way back, but that store was out of malls when Duke Nukem Forever was first announced, so you should have shot up the mall a LONG time ago.

I guess this story wasn't quite big enough for Jack Thompson to snatch up a bunch of Fox airtime and blame video games for the incident. Or maybe it was just that the douche bag isn't taken seriously anymore.

oh, others have already taken its place.

read in the world herald (the local paper) an opinion peice about GTA, and how you can shoot up malls in it.

he never says 'a caused b' but most of the fogies who still read dead tree media will infer that for themselves.

I'd link you to it, but they haven't put that on the net yet.

My favorite part about the news coverage was how a local Chicago station referred to the location of the shooting as Omaha, Iowa.

I wouldn't mind living in Omaha, Iowa.

I read that 'article' as well.  Considering the millions of GTA copies out there, I'm surprised that there hasn't been thousands upon thousands of rampages at airports, homes, car dealerships, factories, dock yards, offices, and so on.  The local media coverage has crossed the line between reporting and sensationalism, which is exactly what this weak, little puke wanted.
