rebuying
« on: December 11, 2007, 04:55:39 AM »
have you ever re-bought a game for the VC that you own in real life? why?

I actually have several, but most of these were purchased by my former roomate - f-zero, golden axe, and ecco ferinstance.

there is one I rebought myself, however: Bomberban '93. it's much more convenient to use wiimotes and wireless gamecube controllers to play than it is to use the real thing.

how about you?

Since I don't own a Wii, I find it difficult to buy VC games.  If I did have one, I'd probably buy the multiplayer games for convenience.

How is it more convenient? Simply the lack of wires or something? Why not buy a wireless controller set for your Turbo?

Well, I do have a wireless set for the Duo, but some of my friends are even more retarded than I am and have problems keeping 'em pointed in the right direction.  You have a point though - maybe it'd be more convenient to get new friends.

more convenient because: one less console/cart to carry around, and wireless controllers.

it would cost me more to get wireless controllers for the tg16 than it is to simply buy it on the VC.

I guess I don't carry my consoles around enough to be able to relate.  :-k

If anything, I think it would be inconvenient to have it on the wii. You'd just be robbing yourself of the true experience. But I do own a multi-tap and multiple controllers and the bomberman games for the turbo and pc engine. I guess if I didn't have them, then I would get them for a wii. Also, I think that a pc engine with a bomberman hucard in it is both lighter smaller and faster than the wii (faster in the sense of starting up and instantly playing!)

I probably should have mentioned I mostly do this for parties, and since I'm bringing the wii anyway...

To me it is much more inconvenient to power up my Wii and navigate to the game to play it than it is to power up my Turbo (or other console) which turns on instantly.  Wireless controllers are inconvenient because of the battery issue.  If they never ever had to be changed, then I would approve.

This is why I want to replace the four AAAs in my controllers with a miniature Mr. Fusion.  Does Radio Shack still carry 'em?

I had good battery life with my cordless duo controllers. But I do see rechargeable batteries being more cost effective.

Rechargeables are cool, but you still have to change/recharge them, and that is super-ultra gay.  What if the batteries start running out in the middle of a game?  Some control commands aren't quite making it to the console, but others are.  f*ck!  Now your own controllers are interfering with your gameplay rather than assisting.  Now you have to stop, change batteries and power up the controller again and wait for it's slow ass to sync to the console.  Yeah.  Wireless SURE IS WORTH IT!  If you trip over controller wires, you are a dumbass who deserves to fall on your face.  Current wireless technology = teh ghey.

No kidding. I'm still on my first set of batteries and it's been like six months. By comparison, I've already replaced the batteries in three of my Wii controllers at least once in the same time period.
