Exile: WP sold for $100-$150 three times in the last few months.
Cotton (sealed, mind you) $60-$70.
DEII was always right around $80-$100. There have been a 2 copies without manuals that were around $30.

I think most new collectors would consider anything under $100 for E:WP or DEII to be a score.

I have all three games and I think each one of them is awesome.  I won't suggest how you spend your money - just giving you an accurate idea of what to expect on Ebay at this moment in time.

Don't let anyone suggest to you that Cotton is not a great game.  Look at the video footage - if that style appeals to you, you'll love playing Cotton.

The graphics are awesome on the Turbo CD version and the game play is stylized but you'll learn it quick.  The music is top notch too.  You just can't beat the 1991 style.

You should get China Warrior, it's cool.

I've had China Warrior since 1996 sir, way ahead of you lol.

I can't beat that damn game to save my life though. I remember there being some guy wearing a blue dress/shirt thing at the end of the third or fourth level, I beat him like....1 time, and only because I had like 4 life bars saved up lol. Saw the cave level once, and got owned by the second guy =(

Damn hard game

Ah I've wanted Cotton since I saw the video on Youtube, I do indeed love the style, and I heard it's actually a very hard shooter, and I tend to hate myself, so I must have it heh.

However he is asking quite a bit more than 60 bucks for it, so I'll have to pass on it for now, plus it sounds like I'd be just fine with the Japanese one. Now the problem is finding one (and not finding a ton of shirts and spools of cloth and cotton on ebay while searching for it heh)

I'm hearing some mixed stuff on Exile II now, price and rarity wise, and ebay isn't much help, only 1 copy in english up, and it's from some ripoff store so, that's very unhelpful heh. Probably gonna go with the masses and go for DEII. It's slightly over a C bill but that seems close to the normal, and that includes shipping, so, I should take my good fortune of finding a complete one and run with it I suppose. He has another copy with a photocopied manual he'll let go a bit cheaper, but the collector in me is telling me not to be a cheapskate and just get it heh.

So anyone got a Japanese copy of Cotton for sale? =p

Hi Beld, welcome to the forums.

I'm a little late on this one (was away all weekend), but I'm gonna throw in another vote for Dungeon Explorer II. I just skimmed the rest of the thread, so I apologize if I'm repeating 342 other users, but don't pay much more than $100 for it or you're just feeding someone's greed. And if you're paying that much, make sure you're getting a first-run print with the color manual. (There was a second run with a B/W manual.)

Ok, the masses have spoken, DE II is in the mail as of tomorrow along with the other goodies.

Appreciate all the input and advice. I'm paying slightly over $100 for it, but all his prices are including shipping etc, so it's about right in the end.

Now if I can just win those auctions up for Cotton and Exile II i'll be good to go until someones suggests something else I should buy heh.

DEII was definately the way to go, second I would look at Exile II, as it is a great game, with awesome voice acting and superb graphics.  Cotton, nothing against it, as it is an ok game, but I think you would be dissapointed with it.  I would rank that lower than Terraforming in my top SCD shmups.  Anything over $30 would be sickening to your wallet!

I've heard Terraforming is one of the best (and rarest) games for SCD. Is it not good? I know NOTHING about it.

Anyone who claims Terraforming is one of the best SCD games is out of his mind.  It's as mediocre as shooters come.  Half of the stages have very impressive background graphics and the music is nice enough, but the gameplay is dull, with little to occupy one's attention aside from wave after wave after wave of boring enemies.  Also, the bosses are mostly lame and the game isn't challenging.  Cotton is much better, as are countless other Duo shooters.

Terraforming is one of the most expensive US games these days, but you should be able to get the JP version for around $30.  I got it for like $20 just last year.

Terraforming is pretty lackluster in the gameplay department.

Graphics are fantastic, music is OK to almost good at times, but the gameplay is just monotonous. I always say you can just position your fighter in one spot on screen, hold down the FIRE button, close your eyes and get to the level boss no problem. The reality probably isn't QUITE that bad, but close. But damn the graphics are nice. One visual peeve of mine is that the weapon powerups are hard to distinguish because they are so f*cking small. They're like 5x5 pixels. Blue, orange and red. The orange and red are really close in color and tough to tell apart on the fly. I always pick up the red one when I want the orange.

DE II- good choice.

The US Exile II is supposedly hard as hell- but it's high on my want list as well...

I was blown away by the intro to Exile WP.   Seriously. When you put that CD in that is like NEXT GENERATION next generation gaming.   I have a pretty big TV - I felt like I was sitting in front of the most giant arcade screen in the world.        I loved Exile ,  WP is for later in the year (when it's hot out and there are crickets) but I know it's going to be an awesome play.
