To bad you didn't pick up a brand new Duo Tap for $10 before TZD died.  I suggest that you get in touch with D-Lite, as he has 'em listed on his site for cheap - $12 boxed and $8 loose.  Either that, or pull the trigger on this sweet deal.

how good of a deal is that wireless et linked to?  Want to get some, but need an idea if this is fair.

That's a great deal. I got my receiver + 2 controllers for $125, but those were brand new in box. That's $85 for the same thing, used.

I wasn't joking (for once) when I said that it was a sweet deal, especially for an ebay deal.  Usually they go for around $100 for a single controller and a receiver.  Sometimes they're a bit cheaper from somebody in Japan, but then you get hammered with pricey shipping.
