There are shitload for the PCE.

I have one, called "Pro World Stadium." It's by Namco and it's actually the exact same same game as RBI Baseball for the NES (also by Namco). The only difference is they added a texture to the field so it's not just a solid green like in the NES version.

Actually, there might be other differences, but that's the only one that stands out. Keeping in mind that the PCE/Turbo can just about run NES code natively on it's CPU, there's a good chance Pro World Stadium isn't even a reprogramming of RBI Baseball. Most of the graphics are NES-par fare. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if they just compiler-optimized the NES code for the Turbo's CPU and threw it on a HuCard.

Aside: I thought you folks would have started talking about the TV SPORTS 4-in-1 pack-in for the TurboDuo by now...

It may have helped sales a bit, as they could've swapped out Ys I & II for this thing and picked up a few anti-RPG gamers.  Shitty trade off, but sports games sold well for the Genny.

the baseball game would probably just have been a renaming of world class baseball.

I wouldn't think so, since the game in the review looks quite different from World Class Baseball.  It would've made more sense for them to finish up TV Sports Baseball than it would've for them to recycle one of Hudson's games.

Sweet- there's my name in Turboplay #9 as a runner-up winner of Bonk's Revenge for killing that crossword puzzle (I remember there being something wrong with that puzzle)...

Necro, thanks for pointing out to guyjin that there was, indeed, a TV SPORTS Baseball, but it was never released. There was a person here... he was on jluedke's podcast "The Drunken Gamers"... who was a reviewer back in the day. IIRC, he played the TV Sports Baseball game (either as an eprom or at a trade show) and said the version he saw still had some rough parts. The published review describes rough patches as well.

Like I said, I think TV SPORTS Baseball could have been decent.

To be honest, that 12-year-old's drawing of Heisen from Valis II is the one that kicks ass!

Anyway, my brother found something a few weeks ago that relates to this discussion. The next time I see him, I'll have to scan it and share it with you. It's pretty embarrassing, but...

OK, some of you folks might be interested in what was happening 16 years ago... March 1992, in TG-16 history. I think there is bunch of little things that will make it worth your time. :)

I updated the original post in this thread. I'll use this thread to announce significant updates.

Haahhahaha. :) Those were the days, but this is a pretty darn embarrassing day. I still haven't been courageous enough to talk about it here. I will, eventually, though.

Is there a particular scanner that you would suggest for magazine scanning?
