HOW DO YOU LIKE YOUR HUEYS?

I unfortunately never paid attention how the HuCard was insert into the sleeve when I opened up a sealed game but I hope someone of you has and can tell me which is the official correct way.

I can't verify how the Japanese titles were done, but they were probably done the same way as the US titles; and since I unsealed seven US games last week, I can shed a little light on the subject.  Every single one of 'em had the longer side facing up, even the two that sat in lame plastic trays instead of jewel cases.  Rest assured, they've all been flipped over to the proper position.

Loose is best. That way you can shove them all into a trading card box or binder and consolidate.

I love my games in their jewel cases.  I love the spines.     The main reason I have only a limited amount of interest in the Japanese games is because they won't have those big bold capital letters on the spine!!   I don't want to see a bunch of Japanese kanji.  Is that racist ??

I used to keep all my cards loose, but I discovered they're almost too small, and easy to lose. (I have the same problem with portable carts.)

so the ones I have cases for, stay in them. Sadly, I don't have too many of the outer boxes, but they're just an extra step in the process, so they stay separate.

I always have the long end of the HuCard sleeve on top and pointing left.  Same with SMS cards as well.  All the cool kids do, and I am way cool.

As for the "hooked" cases, I always store them with the long part on top and over to the left (just like the older cases).  I tuck the sleeve under the hooks on the right, and the long part of the sleeve under the slot on the left.  See?



This is the most natural fit.  Despite there being holes in the sleeve, they never fit very well into the hooks and they certainly won't stay "hooked".  This way is better.  All the cool kids do it.  Be sure and do it this way or all the cool kids will beat you up and steal your lunch money (or the lunch itself).

The older Japanese HuCards come with the short side down and the long side up... having the short side down really helps keep them from sliding around in the jewel case, as the japanese cases don't have the clear plastic arm.

I remember now the reason I keep the sleeves with the short side up front. The later HuCard games (e.g. the Hudson volumes ~45+) contain sleeve with two little holes and the corresponding hookes on the case to hold the sleeve in its place. These holes are on the longer sleeve side which therefore has to be the bottom side. :-"

And yet, as Joe pointed out earlier, this was still a crappy solution when compared to the plastic arm in TG-16 jewel cases.

I've bought several sealed games and I haven't seen the clear plastic arm. I've either seen the foam sponge with the short side down, or I've seen the hooks.

I keep them all complete in their jewel cases. Except for several later TurboGrafx 16 games that unfortunately didn't come with a case.

I'm obsessive compulsive so my hueys have to be snug as a bug in their jewel cases with the manual and sleeve. Oddly enough, the only loosey goosey games i have are CDROM2 games (Final Zone II and Valis II - oh and a couple extra copies of Ys I and II), but their in CD cases so whatever. I'll eventually get complete copies of FZII and VII though.

I just yesterday moved all of my CDs out of the CD binder and back into their proper cases (all with manuals).  All of the hucard cases are long gone except maybe four.  I don't understand the need to keep small baseball card sized hueys in jewel cases- One of the plusses to me about turbografx is the size of the cards.  Back in the day I kept the cases but back in the day I didn't have over 140 hucards.  I DO understand it from a collecting viewpoint and also to retain the dollar value- but this time around I don't plan on ever parting with my games.  Perhaps I'll leave in my will that my significant other can sell them to you fine folk or your offspring or greasy newcomers for dirt cheap.  Or maybe they'll go right into my coffin- with a pad and an extension cable.  I'll duke it out with nextworld jokesters in final lap twin.
