Y's III may be going through a fad price point right now, but it won't last. There are just too many copies of it. Also, its pretty much only good for the soundtrack.

Wasn't Ys III a little rare and expensive at one point, like before 2004? I always remember from times before then that it would go for around $40-50 and was less common than Ys Book I & II. Ys IV used to be like that too for awhile.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Ys IV was only expensive before Nightwolve released his English Patch.  Now everyone probably just dl's it.  It's not Nightwolve's fault though, but it works for anyone wanting to own a copy of Ys IV.  I've even seen brand new copies sell for less than 50 bucks.

I don't speak up often cause I don't got too much to say. I will say that the new TZD looks like Hell! It is nice to see some Working Designs games there though.

The sad thing about a lot of those "new" games is that they were purchased by Redfrog from other store sellers on eBay. They're not new old TZD stock.

I guess that doesn't really matter if you're just looking for a shrinkwrapped game, but it has the potential to get them priced higher than they should be (see the sealed Ys III, etc).

Well, the r4eally sad thing is as much as I would like some of those CD releases, it ain't gonna' happen because I don't have a CD system anymore. #-o

Looks like TZD has branched into bundle scam territory.  They've got Wiis for $400 because they're the "sports bundle" as if it has content not included with any Wii shipped from Nintendo.

Awful prices, also, Sherlock "Homes," are you kidding me?

It's not really worth starting a new thread over so I figured this would be the place to ask, but what happened here?  Even as recent as a year ago I'd get stuff from this site kind of regularly, now there's absolutely nothing on here I'd want to purchase (except possibly Sherlock "Holmes" part I since it would be cool to have complete, I'm a sucker for the few good FMV games out there).

After that lost the lease sale, is the company under different management?  Have the Power Golfs congealed and become self aware, hell bent on making everything else sell as badly as them?

Seriously.  Who's going to go to some weird site and scroll down through a bunch of 20-year-old games for a retro, no-name system to buy their new Wii or ipod?!?
Why doesn't Red Frog just start a new page.  Steve never made us wade through American Pie merch on TZD.

That red frog on their homepage is hideous. It's one of those "it's so horrific, and yet I can't look away" instances.

hahaha.

I just hope no one buys from them. Not on eBay, not on their site; just don't support them. In time they'll be forced to sell their stock at their own cost.

Yes, and iPods, Digital Cameras, XBox 360s, and PS3s with GTA IV.

I guess that copy of Dynastic Hero won't be enough to pay their server bill.

I saw all of this coming already. They will probably start selling games for other consoles as well, and then eventually they will run out of Turbo stock, and be nothing than just another piece of shit sales website that will eventually go under, or run into the ground. That is quite an upgrade to them I'm sure, from being just another piece of shit eBay seller.

Basically they bought the name and the stock, because TZD has always been associated with older gaming, and as a result, they thought they would get all the previous customer base. They already ruined that themselves though.

Oh man, apparently you missed the biggest debacle in NEC console history.

Looking at the posts after yours I can tell.  Damn shame.

People are finally wising up to the Wii "bundle" trick though, so I can't imagine them being too successful with any of the non-Turbo stuff.  But like The Old Rover said, anyone savvy to NEC's products likely won't bother with this site anymore, and I can't imagine them selling too much of their other newer product, since most all of it is overpriced compared even to Circuit City and other sites that tend to stock to the MSRP.

well, i am reading a lot of griping here but i got sealed copies of cosmic fantasy 2 and exile for $30 each and the stuff arrived a few days later.  crappy website or no, the service was dead on. never heard of redfrog and i am sure they are no steve but anyone who can score sealed copies of two great WD games and not rip us off has to be alright.

as for dynastic hero...what do you want? it's rare as hell.

i don't know where they got their stock from but i have a really good guess: i have been saying for a while that telegames.co.uk has the only real good stock of games left (outside of tzd).  ncs got a bunch of stuff in last year at STEALS but it was all PCE.  in any case, i'd rather give tzd $100 for a sealed game than ebay.
