questions concerning the European PAL tg-16
« on: May 02, 2008, 07:50:36 AM »
well just got my new PAL tg-16 today and it has raised a few questions for me

a number of people have claimed that the Euro tg-16 came packed with Blazeing Lasers and it even says on the box and in the manual about a "pack in game" mine being supposedly new didn't come with any game. also read a recent post by a guy in Sweden i beleive that bought his new and that one also had no pack in game. so my question is, was there acually a pack in game or was blazeing lasers just something completely unofficial that maybe the mysterious retailer that was selling these was handing out with the system and it acually was not in the box (like the power and a/v cables being in a seperate box)? also was it just a US copy or did it have its own cover art or manual. i was told they were the same games with just a hastely made multi language manual, any truth to that?

question 2

my system is totally in english from the box to the manual. i've heard it was also possibly released in Spain in the same manner that it was in the UK (very limited test selling) so does the spanish release have a diffrent box and manual all in spanish?
Oh my god! They're not even human!

I bought mine new from a seller who had a ton of them, so I believe it really was new and not just "like-new". Underneath the console was a lone Alien Crush HuCard in a sleeve and underneath it was a cheap photocopied manual. It was the exact same as the North American game.

I noticed that sellers with a large stock of new PAL TG-16's also tend to have "brand new" loose TG-16 games for sale. I believe that they're OEM games that distributers bundled (or would have) with the hardware as they released it into test markets.

I also think that some of the early PAL TG-16 info is sketchy, due to the console being so rare for so long.

Hey, I didn't know you got one of these! What languages are the manuals printed in? What address is given for "NEC Europe" or whatever distributor they used over there. You can point me to a thread if you shared this info already. Thanks :)

One of my many unfinished projects is a full rundown of the PAL TG-16. Here's the thread where I showed some of the pics and some info-

Awesome, thanks. Besides the great info, pics you took (can't wait for more info), I actually red the wacky stuff: the "PAL Framerate Debacle", the "Halloween TG-16", the "Red and Yellow" TG-16....

Black_Tiger, you have tons of wonderful half-finished projects. I have a handful, myself, but you've got a bazillion. :)
