Magical Chase (US) was easily obtained in the $150-$300 range (not sealed, of course) for, like, 10 years. To say it's price has been rising steadily for years is misleading; it was at a virtual plateau forever with relatively minor fluctuations up and down from sale to sale (of course, you'll always have the odd sale way above or below the mean). Over the past year it's gone from said range to THOUSANDS of dollars. I'd argue the term "super spike" is understating the matter, even.

Back in those days, a $300 Magical Chase was the *worst* thing we had to worry about. Of course people will always complain about expensive shit, the only difference is back then our "expensive shit" was like $300 and not $3,000.

There are 5 releases of Magical Chase (4 Japanese and 1 North American) covering 3 different hardwares.

Does anyone own or has anyone played the CD version!?

I've been wanting to find out about if for more years than I care to remember now!

Cheer.

You sure about that? One US version (huey), two JP versions (huey).

Magical Chase CD was in development, but canceled.  I've always thought it was the source for the new graphics in the USA version HuCard.  Like they had started to make the CD version with all new visuals and upgrades, so they kept in what little was finished.

The hidden bgm in the HuCard game being used for a tutorial in the GBC version gives the impression that Quest had more content planned even during the HuCard phase.

The US Magical Chase .. graphically superior to both Japanese versions.  I'll let someone else point these out though.

I'll point out that this is incorrect.
