I think everyone in shout made it clear they didnt care, but well done anyway. Just for the record,I do like both of the Samurai Ghost games, own them both, but I completely understand why others dont, esp the first one.

Why on Earth subject yourself to this mess? Especially when there are..... GOOD games available for the system!

For me its just the undead japanese theme and the way the game looks/plays on the large character parts. The small sprite areas Im not fond of at all though on the first game. I also love Time Killers though,so I dont tend to always go with the crowd on some well hated titles.

I think I should also mention I play these 2 games maybe twice a year,so Im not a hard core fan or nuthin. I like them about as much as Dragon Spirit, the PCE Shinobi port, or Shockman 2. However back in 94 when I first got the US Samurai Ghost I did play it hardcore, beating it often. One of my fav titles back then.

I have to admit, it took stamina to defeat such a steamy pile without falling asleep or passing out from massive blood loss from your ears.  I'm not sure if you deserve a medal though, as Genpei isn't particularly difficult - it just sucks.  :D

What, is the shout box the new social justice or something?

Did you get the bad ending or something? I couldn't read the text but boy did it look like the boss, after being defeated, just kicked your ass back in return. And the sour music at the end...

Michael, who cares about the consensus on shoutbox?! Not I! :)

I was interested to hear about this, since I haven't beaten good old Genpei Toumaden yet.

I will, though, when I get back to it. I was playing the Famicom version a few weeks ago... talk about masochism! I hope the cart didn't leave a residue in my console.

You know I gotta say, after watching three minutes or so of this video, this game looks a lot cooler than I had always thought of it. I should pick it up.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).
