1. SMS - That system is growing on me more and more.

2. Dreamcast - From what I've seen of that bugger it's awesome. It's a shame it didn't catch on.

3. Genesis - I crap on it a lot, but it did have some really good games that I logged big hours on.

4. Saturn - Well, I've never played this system at all, so it was hard for me to put this above the Genesis. However, I just got an old Retro Gamer magazine in the    mail that has a feature article on the Saturn. I read the first page of the article before bed last night and it has nothing but great things to say about it. Maybe it should rank higher, but I've never played it, so I guess that's how she rolls.

Dreamcast, Genesis, Saturn, Master System.

Dreamcast - Fantastic and innovative little box that was so much better than the PS1 and N64 and yet quite competitive with the PS2 and Xbox that came out quite a bit later.  It's unfortunate that Sega didn't intelligently market and support this beauty, but they didn't and now they blow hermaphroditic goats.

Genesis - So many fun games, even though they're often blandly colored and sound like frying anus.

Saturn - Some good stuff for sure, but I never cared much for the 32-bit generation.

Master System - Haven't played it much, so I can't really rank it any higher.

I voted SS, DC, SMS, Gen, although it could just have easily been DC, SS, SMS, Gen. I only slightly prefer the SS to the DC, both are f*cking fantastic.

I voted SMS over Genesis because I think that the in the 16-bit days the Genesis was such a far far distant forth for me with the PCE , Neo Geo and SNES being out there. Its an OK machine in itself, but still forth rate, IMO. The 16-bit days were very competitive times. On the other hand the SMS, even with its rather pathetic software library, was still a unique enough, and fun enough experience even if you had a NES that I have to give it some respect.

That changes things, then.... Voted Saturn, Dreamcast, Genesis, Master System.  I could never really get into the Genesis and while the Master System has been fun in the short time I've had it, its library of great games is too small.

Could have gone either way between Saturn and DC, but I've always had a soft spot for the Saturn.

I like them in the order they came out in with the Master System being my favorite and the Dreamcast being my lest favorite.

I have fond memories of the Genesis and thats why its a close second to the SMS and i like only the Import side of the Saturn as i felt the US release was very weak outside a few top drawer titles. :D

In all honesty it is really hard for me to choose between the Genesis and the SMS.  I have many more games for the Genesis, but that is likely because there are many more games to get for the thing.  More games doesn't always make a system better in my eyes.

That changes things, then....

The poll should be set up so that you can change your vote.

More games doesn't always make a system better in my eyes.

Prime example: the 2600.
