For whatever it's worth, almost every game that I've bought singly has been shipped in a bubble mailer.
Ditto.
I can't vouch for my customers, but my items are usually fine when I've been on the receiving end.  When shipping, I also usually wrap newspaper or padding around the items.  If I had ever once seen more than the occasional crack in a cover--like a broken case clip or, god-forbid, game, I would certainly not advocate bubble mailers.   I agree with Helgeson that expensive items (maybe $40-50+) are worth investing in a box.

Im doubtful every game you have shipped, has arrived safe and sound if mailed that way. What you prob had was alot of people cutting you slack for cracked jewel cases. No one here wants their stuff shipped in that manner. Seriously, scour the threads here for shipping complaints, and you will see that. Use better packing material. You can nab small boxes at Wal-Mart for under a buck that are perfect for shipping jewel case sized items, and they have room for bubble wrap or shredded paper material. Invest a little cash into better protecting what you ship, because you damn well know shipping nice expensive items in a flat mailer with two thin pieces of cardboard does not really cut it.

Just because your not on ebay now doesn't mean you can just crap out on shipping good with no fear of negative comments being made. And now your on a  forum where people will express their distaste in this kind of behavior when they see it happen or reported. Also, per your friends advice on this thread http://www.rfgeneration.com/forum/index.php?topic=7430.msg108582
maybe it would be best for you to go elsewhere. You obviously don't care for our opinion on it and clearly stated what you think of us.

and if you dont know what you are talking about then its best to not say anything.
did anyone say it was 2 thin pieces of cardboard?
NO THEY DIDNT.
the case was WRAPPED in cardboard. that means cardboard completely wrapped around the case and also overlapping. the tighter the package the best resistence to shock. like someone mentioned putting a small piece of bubble wrap in the center reduces shock because it thickens it. same thing with wrapping in cardboard.
just keep your comments to yourself dude. and he didnt say he was upset with the transaction. you simply took one statement and blew it way out of proportion. he even said it was all in very good condition.
your not going to buy from me. and i wouldnt even sell to you after all of this anyways. so what you have to say means jack squat. so you can quit your attacks and go bother someone else that cares.

Also, one trick I picked up from Toshi at Dreamstars is slipping a little square of bubble wrap under the cover of CD cases to distribute the impact suffered from any rough envelope-shipping.

hey man i do that as well when i send, and have not had any bad feedbacks, i also let people know how i will be sending generally and if they have any concerns they let me know. but i hear ya Micheal, i had a padded envelope with a bunch of vic 20 games for my wife arrive and it was all ripped open!!!! with one game missing :( (was not a good one anyway :P) always best to let the buyer know.

and so far so good with Dremcaster, got a decent price for the games i want and i am awaiting shipping (hopefully it will be packed well)
at the end of the day majority will rule on dreamcaster, if i am happy or not i will let the forum know.

I got both the games I ordered from Dreamcaster very quickly, and they arrived in pristine condition. Purchase with confidence, and he is willing to bargain on his prices.

I'm not the president or anything- but as long as you're entertaining offers which it seems you're doing now that's fine by me.  That was my only problem that you'd say "pm me an offer" while having fixed prices in mind.   Don't think we're all out to gang up on you -- that really isn't how it works here- we appreciate new sellers but are wary of some of the new ones who run in just for the quick buck.  I'll check your list again now but I don't know- I like all of my hucards loose and I have a good many of the games on your list.  Either way good luck with the sale.

PS- I checked through my ebay purchases and email and it seems that perhaps I didn't buy from you in the past after all- which confused me because I have a memory of pming you "ween does indeed rock"- I thought it was connected to a purchase- but now I can't recall the actual outer context.

The game was wrapped in some thin cardboard and placed in a plain manilla envelope (no bubble wrap).  I was shocked that it wasn't damaged in transport, but maybe Mike knows something I don't about the secret art of folding cardboard. I would recommend that people tell Mike explicitly that they want a cardboard box.

Dreamcaster, read that quote well again. He was not congratulating you on your lackluster packing job. Incase you did not know this, and this applies to anyone, typically at postal hubs mail will come down conveyor belts to get sorted, and alot of time the people have to grab and toss it fast to keep things moving steadily, and lots of impact does occur as well as crushing from heavier items.

I got to see last nite at a guys house I used to deal with (who happens to run hub to hub routes for USPS) what kind a damage this type of sorting can do in extreme cases,as he showed us a Hyper 64 Sam Showdown cart that was damaged due to poor packing in a plain large bubble mailer envelope. The metal casing got all bent up and dented and he had to use pliers to bend it back into shape so the cart would fit on the Hyper 64 system.

This is simply not a good way to ship expensive items, esp if the person is paying for packing materials and shipping.
You can whine and bitch about me saying this all you want, but it doesn't change the fact thats a piss poor way to ship.

well, i didnt use a plain bubble mailer. and i dont use them either for that simple fact. its like mailing in a plastic bag.
once again mountains out of mole hills dude. reread what was posted. once again your talking about something you had no part of. it didnt concern you at all. he wasnt even upset at all. nothing was damaged. i know what i am doing when i package these.
from this point on i am ignoring any of your other posts since they are irrelevent.

Do you mean ignoring me like when you said you would no longer reply to any comments in this thread ?  Bubble mailers or thin cardboard, neither are good protection on expensive items. USPS will even fight/deny a insurance claim on damaged items if they are packed poorly. Keep that in mind. [-X

ok, i got vasteel and sinstron with manual and sleeve and over all i am happy… only thing that needs some improving is shipping… the thin cardboard with a regular envelope did not help my double cd case of vasteel and the corner got dinged (plastic chipped off) not that bad but still. Dreamcaster you just need to take a little more care in shipping and all will be goooooood.

For what it's worth, my comment was intended to inform potential buyers that they should (as I mentioned) specifically ask Mike to ship using more secure packagine, as I do not think that a manilla envelope (or a bubble mailer, for that matter) is adequate, regardless of ancient and secret cardboard-folding techniques.

Since my package arrived without any damage I am not upset and am satisfied with my purchase.  (I also genuinely believe that Mike is a good guy and wants his buyers to be happy.)

Mike: I work part time at UPS, and let me tell you, packages are not handled carefully in transit.  Treat your packages as if they are going to be thrown against a wall, because that is a distinct possibility.  Saving $1-2 on shipping is not worth the possibility of damage.
I'm not sorry about this, as I'm not sorry about ANY attack by the goverrats.

I was parked out side of the fed-ex in downtown one time and saw the dude loading up his truck. He was just throwing the packages into the truck. I looked at him like wtf?, but he just laughed and continued to throw them.

A friend advised me not to ship anything UPS ground service without extreme packaging precautions, like "maybe if you put it in a hard-plastic camping cooler wrapped in duct tape."   :D

He said air mail and the more expensive services are less dangerous because they're used more for lighter items, documents and commercial goods and are initially transported in vehicles that aren't as densely-packed as the ground trucks.

Further off topic... 8-[
Guys I've known at UPS have told me horror stories about packages falling off conveyor belts and spilling contents ranging from samples of fox seamen to formaldehyde-soaked pig fetuses...yuck.
