It sounds crazy, but I just bought my first TG game ever.  I'd never played the Turbo as a kid, and I didn't discover it until I was in Japan so I, of course, started buying PCE games instead.  Lately, however, I've been feeling like I want to collect Turbo stuff too, mostly because I'm still sore that I missed out on it during my childhood and I want to recapture the experience.  That being said, I just bought this for about $45.

I can't make up my mind if I want to open it, though.  I think I do, but darn it, it's so hard to make myself when it looks so pristine after all this time and I can't afford stuff like this that often.

Don't go without playing Cosmic Fantasy 2! It's fantastic. Tear that shrink wrap right off and get going. It'll look better having been played

Just look at it this way. A few years ago that game was going for about $15 brand new on eBay regularly.

So in another 50 years it will be worth $100. Profit 😏

Well, I've played through the Japanese version already, but yeah... I'm gonna' do it.  I just need to set up a camera to document the opening. Hopefully by the time I'm 70 or so I'll have enough money to have a complete in shrink-wrap Turbo collection! XD

I actually have a shrink-wrapped copy of Top wo Nerae! Vol. 2 for the PCE that I should open too...

Oh, you definitely will enjoy the US dub of Cosmic Fantasy 2. It is really nice done. :)

I know folks complain about the encounter rate in old games, but you already played the Japanese version so you know what you are getting in to.

Yeah, I'm actually pretty stoked to try it out.  I know a lot of people aren't fond of the way Working Designs sometimes took liberties with their translations, but I always felt like they really did a good job for the resources they had and for the time period.

I did open it up, by the way, but I have to ask:  Is the CD label supposed to look like it was printed at 20dpi and have the characters from Cosmic Fantasy 1 on it?  I'm half-worried I bought a reproduction or something...

EDIT:  An hour in and already people are talking about hemheroids, setting up local chapters of AA, and referencing Gilligan's Island...  Yep, it's a Working Designs translation alright! :D

Also, it's pretty cool that you can use the same save file between both the English and Japanese versions of the game.  Neat!

Yes it is one solid pice of metal. Heavy to. The back has these cool tounge and groove bit to slot into a display cabnite with screws to hold it in place. Just don't have any idea what type of display it would have originally gone to.

Nice!  I have an SNES ascii pad and love that thing.  Super solid.
