Happy days are here:

Sega Mega Modem and Mega Answer Ten Key Pad!

So after I managed to snag the Mega CD Karaoke unit awhile back, I figured I might as well go full bore crazy when it comes to the MegaDrive accessories.  It took awhile of looking at auctions in Japan that weren't overpriced but eventually a seller appeared with both a Mega Modem and the 10-key starting at about $10 each, I won both of these pretty close to that and then shipped them right over along with a couple other things!

The Mega Modem goes on the back of the Genesis and uses the EXT port, and even comes with a screw to help hold it place similarly to the Power Base Converter.  The Ten Key Pad has a regular Genesis/DB9 connector on the end and plugs into the controller ports of the Mega drive.

There are a couple ways the modem itself was released: standalone, bundled with games, or like the bundle I have now which was with a package called the MegaAnswer which was used with a Japanese bank.  To my understanding, the rest of the MegaAnswer system involved a printer if you wanted to print receipts, and a custom cartridge that was used to connect to the bank in question.  Then you would use the custom 10-key controller to navigate their bank system on your home MegaDrive.  By the way, there are actually more than 10 keys on the pad.  It gets its name from the 10 numeric keys on it like a regular office 10 key pad.

Is that my high score in Blast Wind or the balance in my checking account?

HOLY SHITE!

It's the interest I owe on my mortgage.

FDS Stick?

Yeah it a cool floppy disk 128Mb flash cart. It connects to the Famicom Floppy Disk System in two ways. Here is a pic. One way it connects to the RAM cart like in this picture. The other way take little modding to make a cable and on the drive. That will allow you to connect the Floppy Disk System into your computer to copy off the games and save games.

Here is more info.

Alzadick had the spine underneath the tray, and I got it from nullity who may not have known that. Also Shock Troopers came from nectarsis, thanks! Good luck with your wedding!

Aww man, I wish I'd known that. I really wish I could have gotten one of the NEC shirts but they're still gone ;_;

That's my TV of choice as well.  Some people don't like it because it doesn't  have scan lines

True no scan lines.

But it works great with my various systems.

PS2/3, PSTV, XBOX, 360, Game Cube, Wii, Dreamcast, Saturn, Analouge Nt, CMVS, PGM

I will need to check how it works with my other systems.

Mostly anything 16 and 8 bit. Some 32 bit systems

But that's why I have a PVM stashed away. For games that look best with scan lines and need light gun support. Granted the PVM has remained in its peel an box every since my move.

Rare Popful Mail Pop-Up Counter Advertisement

I finally got a new incredibly rare piece of Popful Mail history! This is a pop-up counter display from Japan to promote the PC-88 version of the game. First one that I've ever seen and I'm glad to add it to my ever growing Popful Mail collection.  Starting to run out of space a bit actually :P

Sweet!  I always wanted a LCD panel for my computer, since the 90's.  Never got one or found one that was even affordable really.  Now I just kinda want one to sit somewhere for virtual pinball DMD.  I'm gonna look into that again.

I really bought it last week, while I was in TN, but I dropped $30 bucks to get Korg Gadget and Bilbao and Abu Dhabi, which I was wanting since I got my ipad but was sorta waiting for a sale.  I don't really like spending this much on "apps" but in this case it seems like a good purchase.  More relevant to you guys is the fact that one of the DLC synths they released was co-produced by Namco and it's called Kamata:

I want it pretty bad but I'm super cheap and am gonna wait for the next sale.  Besides, Gadget comes with another game synth called Kingston in the meantime:
