what a weird premise by HudsonSoft!  A meteor is gonna crash into the earth.  You must get a job and earn enough money to buy anti meteor gadgets off the shopping channel to save the earth and your family.  You have a few days to make enough cash and buy whatever shit they selling on the shopping channel
