It's debated that the mercury in vaccines causes autism too.

No it's not. Lunatics keep saying it, but it's false. Mercury hasn't been used in vaccines in the United States for years, and incidents of autism have not reduced as a result.

Yes, mercury HAS been linked to autism, and yes, it IS still used in vaccines, though it is slowly being phased out. Thiomersal (thimerosal) is an organomercury that has been used in vaccines for many decades (since the 1930s). Unfortunately, you cannot rely on the FDA to provide accurate information, as their studies are based on "honest reporting from the pharmaceutical companies"...and I don't think I need to explain how well THAT works out. 2-PE is on the rise though as an alternative to thiomersal, as well as other such "safer" preservatives. 2-PE is primarily used in dermatological products as a bactericide, and it's apparently less damaging than thiomersal (but more expensive, and you can even order it online). I couldn't find much information on it on the RSC website though, but there's a little.

In this case they gave the Nod family shit, so they should throw it right the f*ck back.  Preferably mixed with high velocity lead.

Update:
They finally got ahold of the social worker who met with us on Sunday in the hospital. The case has been cleared, all they're going to do now is a follow-up at our home. So now, we're simply waiting for clearance from the pediatrician. Of course, another problem sprang up...they put Luna on a five day antibiotic treatment. WHAT THE f*ck. And they did it without our consent, then conveniently forgot to tell us until a day later. However, the nurses are all telling them to release her earlier. The ped might be forced to bend to the pressure and release Luna earlier than Friday. Anyways, she got a single dose of penicillin (wtf? to administer it this early causes penicillin allergies in many, many children!) and a five-day "plan" of another antibiotic (my guess is amoxycillin, wifey wasn't sure which one it was but this sounds the most likely). So great...setting our daughter up for a lifetime of allergies. Wonderful. I only hope that she is strong enough to resist it...but she should be, considering she was full-term and is very healthy.

My wife and I are good friends with a woman who is not only an MD but also a doula and a childbirth education specialist. She has also given birth at home, and apparently more than once. We're going to see what she suggests, since she's got a lot more experience in this kind of thing than us.

It will work out man, just have faith and be positive and seriously assertive when need be. Rover is good people, I am sure all will be fine. I'm trying to send positive energy since I was a bit of a pain as I hadn't realized things were on this level. I have to try and make up for it somehow. I'm saying I hope that everything works out well in the end.

T2K, no worries, all's good. :D

Small update: Wifey just called to have me come pick her up so she can come home and prepare her milk pump. Luna's finally been removed from the incubator and placed in a regular bassinet. Looks like the hospital stay is coming to an end at long last.

Sorry about my rant but I did get mad over this. They also feed me a big line of crap while doing the chemo I do. Anyway Hope everything goes well for you and your family from here on out and you guys stay cool.  Get that Lawyer though. I would not hesitate. someone has got to pay. whether its for putting someone behind bars or for the money. Go and at least see one and see what a lawyer says at the consultation. Lawyers are also another beast but I think you guys have something here.

(wtf? to administer it this early causes penicillin allergies in many, many children!)

Probably what happened to me.  I am allergic to anything ending in 'cillin'.  I hallucinated for weeks straight when I was younger after taking penicillin.  I saw clay figures running around sticking their tongues out at me, matchstick soldiers with bayonettes guarding the couches, giant spiders between desks, popsicle sticks raining down from the ceiling, rainbows where rainbows shouldn't have been, you name it.  Even after they sent me back to school here and there I'd see something for up until a few days later.  Sounds like fun- but when you're a little kid it was anything but- was pretty f*cking scary.

Holy crap Sin. That would have been nuts.  Though the matchstick soldiers sound pretty cool.

Healthy babies shouldn't be in incubators. So either that doctor is comitting some serious malpractice, or your baby isn't as healthy as you think.

We're discovering that malpractice runs rampant in that particular hospital. They've committed dozens of mistakes with us alone, let alone the mistakes they've made with others I've spoken with while waiting around in the waiting rooms of the hospital. We're trying as hard as we can now to get Luna released from the hospital, as they've already screwed up too many times.
