Tengai Makyo II and Gulliver Boy
« on: July 10, 2008, 01:17:16 PM »
I own both of these games and have a question about them.  My copy of Tengai Makyo II has a the cover on the instruction booklet.  I have noticed other covers to the instruction booklet that have the characters instead.  Also, I have seen two different covers to Gulliver Boy.  Did these games use different covers for a second running?  Also which ones are first runs if there is such a thing for these games.  Thanks to anyone who can answer my sort of pointless questions.

Both games came in double disc cases with a manual and map. It sounds like you might have incomplete versions.

Hmmm...my version has the map, but I just noticed the instruction booklet is missing.  I thought I had it.  I haven't opened and played the game in years.  I bought it back in 93 used, and swear it had the instruction booklet as well.  I did let my brother borrow my Duo and this game for a year while I was in college.  It might just be missing.  Well haha that answers that question.   #-o  Thanks!  Now what about Gulliver Boy?  There's two different covers.  I just wanted to know which one was the first running.  Thanks for anyone with info.

I've never seen or heard of a Gulliver Boy variant. Maybe you're thinking of the Saturn version?

The PC Engine version has a dark cover with art of most of the game's characters and the manual is golden/beige with the heroes on it.

No I know it's not the Saturn version.  I just was bringing it up because I was seeing ebay bids that have the cover from the instruction booklet.  It was a cropped image.  So I guess it's just the booklet and spine card in the in the two ebay bids I saw.  I guess I was just assuming (for some reason) that it was another reprint.  Wow...I think I made a pointless topic.  Sorry.

Yeah, if you see a double disc case game in a single disc case, the first giveaway is if the cover is the same as the manual.

I once bought a copy of the Super CD Ziria because it had no description but the cover was one I'd never seen. It was cheap so I bought it hoping that it was some sort of taikenban. It turned out that it was the Super CD version with the cover ripped off. The inside page just happened to make a perfect cover as well. :P
