So I just paid a ridiculous price for this game and so far am actually loving it.  It's fairly simple, and not the greatest game I've played for the Duo, but for some reason I really enjoy it.

Anyone else have thoughts on this game?
Games I Need: Bonk 3 (HuCard), Legend of Hero Tonma, Magical Chase, Soldier Blade, Super Air Zonk.

Got one to sell? PM me!

Yeah I did.  Like I said, I paid an insane amount of $ for it, but I really wanted it to help complete my collection.  I've only got a few more US S/CD games to go before I have them all.

Anyway, it's a pretty decent game; much better than I thought it would be.  It's a lot of puzzles, a lot of trial and error.

How much did you pay?  Maybe I can make you feel better, cause I paid around $200    for my mint copy with original case/manual/map.

The game is really cool for old school.  I like the music and the dialogue.

That's exactly what I paid and for the same stuff.  Whew!  I don't feel so bad now.

That seems to be the price for mint copies.  I felt the same way you did when I got it.

Yes I am.  I actually just played it for a while yesterday.  It's a pretty solid game!

I liked it too.  It's pretty fun.  I wonder why Sega went the way of FMV with their games but NEC stuck to good games.  I'll never understand the attraction to FMV.

You think a company would figure to stop producing FMV games after noticing the sales of poor sales of the first batch of them.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

I bought BeyShad when it came out and haven't played it in probably 3-4 years.  After seeing how much some people are paying for it I'm wondering if anybody has a disc with the same bug mine has?  There's an area where you are supposed to grab a vine and swing over a swampy area that kills you.  When I put the icon over the vine it says OBJECT01 or something and does nothing when you click on it.

I've never encountered that problem... but then again, I don't recall that specific part of the game.  If you can provide a screenshot that would help out.

Also, are you playing on actual console or via emulation?  Emulation could be causing the glitch...

No, its the actual game cd on the actual duo.  I think the area is on the way to getting the sword.  A screenshot will be tough as its a good way into the game and I've lost all my saved games as I haven't powered up the duo in about 6 months, but maybe 'll give it a try next weekend.

yeah, losing saves is the worst.  I think a fellow here is playing through the game as we speak.  Hopefully he'll get to the point you're describing and see what's up.  It sounds like a major glitch in the game...

I did manage to get to the swampy region.  It is not that far into the game.  After you escape from the dungeons and get past the cliff areas, you come across a city where you can get a quest to take a box to a sage in the woods from a guy in a store and have a turtle race with a guy in a tavern.  If you leave the city by passing a guy with a guitar then follow the path to the right you will enter the swamp.  Keep going right past what looks like a pile of stones and you can see a red dinosaur like thing in the distance.  The vine that is directly above the red thing is where you would grab and swing across the deathtrap.  When I put the eye icon over it the info box comes up with obj1.
Most likely I have a defective disc as the rest of the game plays normally.  I tried to grab a screenshot but am only getting black screen.  I'm using an ati radeon 7500 allinwondercard and 3 different screencap.(ati's,wisdomsoft screenhunter, and printscreenbutton) methods and no luck.  Tried Hu-go! emu, got the game to start but graphics were warped making it unplayable, only Prince Eric is drawn correctly, rest is blocky and distorted.
