Mike Tyson Punch Out letter.
« on: July 24, 2008, 09:07:45 AM »
I found this at DP. I remember getting Punch Out new as a kid, but never remembered this letter.

My buddy and I played many rounds of Punch Out back in the day, but I don't remember ever seeing such a letter.  Thanks for sharing the ludicrisp lubrication.

Never become angry - it will inhibit your ability.
It will also lead to a propensity for gnawing on your opponent's ear.

Or in Mike's case, 100% mental.

Hey if I recall, anger helped Mike instantly win some fights!

Great letter, thanks for sharing!

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

I rememeber that letter when I bought the game. I know I threw it out, as I imagine a lot of other people did, which is why they are hard to find today. I guess you need it if you want a true complete copy of MT Punchout. :)

Hahah.. that's pretty good.  Iron Mike probably couldn't even read or write when that was printed.

I got mine new in the store too but it didn't come with any such letter.  They probably only had so many printed and only put them in the first X number of the copies of the game.  Some of these words are pretty big though for Mikey, I suspect he didn't actually write any of this, not even the quotes.  Well maybe he said the quotes.  Maybe lol.

I had a mint condition box for this game with the inserts and the letter (the letter wasn't mint) that I sold on ebay. It went for about 15 bucks...

I kinda regret selling the letter because I like to keep the inserts, maps, etc for the NES games that are in my collection...

I remember that letter, haha. Nintendo was obsessed with letters! Like in Mario 3 where the princess kept sending you letters.

HAHA.. remember the letter from the old man that you needed in Zelda to buy potions from the old woman? Who knew that the letter was from Mike Tyson?!
