Those are excellent pix Rag-Time! I'm glad that you guys enjoyed Bomberman 94 together. Now, I need to get my family to play bomberman with me!

Turbo D, I just added some more...

I forgot to mention, at McDonald's in the Philippines you can order "Chicken McDo" which is fried chicken, gravy, and steamed white rice...

I've got a pic of it somewhere...

That Chicken Mc.Do sounds tasty :) Speaking of Philippino food, I really enjoy these Philippino taquitos. I don't know what they're officially called, but I've had them at a few parties.

Lumpia!

My wife's mom, a professional cook, made some that were steamed instead of fried. Kind of like a soft egg roll.

Everyone loves lumpia, best party food around. The dish that always comes to mind when I think about the PI is champorado. It's basically a hot bowl of sweet rice & milk chocolate. Yummy =P~ Ate it for breakfast all the time during my visits.

Rolins, I heard something about that but my wife was trying not to overload me with sweets. I tried a lot of the Filipino made cookies though  8)

My favorite dish was my wife's special pansit with small quail eggs. Ahhh miss that!!

Quail eggs in pansit I've never tried that but I believe ya when you say it's good. Have you tried other dishes kare-kare, papaitan, or dinuguan (I call it choco-meat :)). Those are the good stuff, as long as there is rice I could eat that stuff all day.

A couple that I tried were Pinakbet and egg adobo... The ones you're talking about don't sound familiar. I stayed in Tarlac.... so maybe the foods you tried are regionalised. I was told that different regions specialise in different foods... or maybe my family just didn't cook those for me..

The 3 that I mentioned are pretty common all over the PI, your family probably just didn't make it for you. Ask them another time, they're really good.

This all sounds very strange to me- It'd seem that speaking to rags about food would be like speaking to a Cuban about freedom  :)
