Questions about PC-FX

I don't have a PC-FX yet, but am strongly considering buying one, especially after seeing the low prices for it on Yahoo Japan compared to eBay. I have noticed that several Angelique games (a personal favourite) and similar games were released for it-are there any others along those lines besides Arubarea no Otome? I've also seen some games for auction that seemed interesting, could anybody here tell me about Voice Paradise? I was curious about Rururi Rarura as well, but already found a previous thread discussing it-sounds pretty good.

Also, if anybody here has both PC-FX and PS versions of Angelique Tenkuu no Requiem RPG, do you have a preference as to which version? It's one of the few Angelique games I don't have already, and I don't think I'll bother to get both.

Any other game recommendations, while I'm at it here? I like to skip around in genres, though I'm not big on FPS, sports or fighting games unless they're extremely exceptional (think Jet Set Radio, if you count that as a sports game). I'm not interested in porn titles. I can understand Japanese fairly well, but am not quite at native fluency yet (4 or below in the Japanese literacy ratings on this site would probably be best for me; I've been self-educated for 5 years but have some vocabulary holes.) In addition to dating sims like the Angelique line, I tend to like puzzle games, RPGs, music/rhythm games, adventure games, and platformers, though I'm open to others.

Voice Paradise is a Sim game where you have to guide 3 girls on their way to become a "sing-star" or something like that. As I don't speak/read any Japanese, I don't like that game very much as I can't get much out of it.

Ruruli Rarura I like very much. I played it the whole way through and had much fun doing this. It's a mixture of a Jump'n Run/Puzzle and RPG. The graphics and sounds is only average but the gameplay was fun, at least for me. You should be able to this one pretty often on YJ for a reasonable price.

Other games  I like very much are:

Farland Story FX - a more simple than Langrisser StrategyGame
Zeroigar - Only Shoot'em-Up and a nice one
Chip Chap Kick - Great Jump'n Run - BubbleBobble style
Zenki FX - nice Jump'n Run with an exceptional graphical style

When you like Dating Sims, try out 'First Kiss Monogatari'. I don't own it but I've heard that it should be one of the best for this system.

Oh, now I remember something else I was wondering. Can the Japanese console cords plug into a standard US outlet/TV, or would it need any adapters? I've never bought any appliances from there before, but I heard something was slightly different about voltages..?

You can plug it into your usa tv no problem theres a 10v difference in the power voltage, shouldnt be a problem.

I own this game but haven't played it for more than 20 minutes. There are tons of text and a map where you can choose the next location you want to visit.

Yes, it has an yellow 18 sticker at the front, so it'll propably contains some explicit content. As I don't own it, I don't know to what extend.

As I live in Germany I don't know how it applies to US standards, but I needed a NTSC->PAL converter. I think you don't need a converter.
Here in Germany I need 230V instead of 110V (or something like that) what the PC-FX outputs. I'm using a step-down converter for this.

I am interested in buying a PC-FX as well once I get another job. Is it worth buying them on Yahoo! Japan auctions than say Ebay or other sites? I know it's cheaper on Yahoo! Japan auctions, but the shipping thing could be annoying and up the price.

Most of the people selling them on eBay live in Japan anyway, so the shipping would be the same. The only difference is you'll have the fee from the deputy service, which isn't very high. On eBay, expect to pay $100+ (usually higher) for the console with no games; on Yahoo Japan you can expect approx. $25-35, usually with games. I've bought things from Japan before, it's usually $8 to get books or video games mailed (which arrive very quickly)..I've heard the PC-FX weighs 5 pounds, so it shouldn't be too bad. I'm going to, once I have money.

Wow, they are that cheap on Yahoo! Japan? I knew they were cheap from when I have checked a couple years ago, but not that cheap! I'll definitley look into buying one sometime.
