Shape Shifter help...
« on: February 17, 2005, 09:59:02 AM »
I re-bought this game, thinking that I might be better at it after all these years, but I still cant get past the cat-worshipping-pyramid-from-hell thing.  Anyone got any tips?  I thought there used to be a FAQ for this game on gamefaqs.com, but i guess it dissapeared (?)

anyone else stuck in this game?

I've beaten the game and it is probably one of the hardests games I've ever played.  Car worshipping pyramid?  Is that the part where u talk to some chick and she has you find something?  Like a necklace or something and when you bring it back u ask for ur reward but she says that ur reward is to be sacraficed?  If so, u have to climb up to the top of the pyramid thing (there are platforms on each side of the screen u jump on)   I believe theres a blue jewel that u have to hit and I think Lycos can only hit it because u have to shoot at it from the platforms.  This is still pretty much in the beginning of the game, there's a lot more to go... very tedious

Yes believe me, this game sucks. Too hard. I accidentally beat it years ago when it was first released, and was trying to figure out a code/easter egg during the last 3 bosses(yes there are 3 last bosses to beat the game), and i became invincible to the bullets they shoot.

The ending is pretty good too with some nice artwork, and a cool rock song during the end credits, with digitized stills of the programmers(or could it be the band that made the song-who knows?).

There is a cheat to see the ending without beating the game or even starting it, but i would beat it at least once if i were you.

www.cheatbot.com has the ending cheat for anyone else interested in seeing it without playing it, or has played it, and could never beat it, and gave up.

I haven't beat Shape Shifter and it is really hard. I wouldn't say it sucks though, I think it's a really awesome game actually. I'll try to beat it when I buy a copy of it some day.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

That game rules, I beat it back in the day, it wasn't that hard if you use caution and don't try to muscle you're way through the game.

But I always muscle through everything because I am so buff and hung.

I just e-mailed GameFAQs to let them know that not only is the FAQ missing, but the U.S. version isn't listed at all.

I know that there was once a FAQ, since I took a peak to see what it said, but that was years ago.
