PC-FX System for Sale
« on: September 02, 2008, 06:55:32 AM »
I've got a PC-FX that I could do without. It only comes with the necessary hookups and one controller. The system itself works, but I don't have game to test it with. The system also is victim of discoloration. Half is normal and the other half is discolored.

I think I paid like $60 (somewheres around that price would do) for it and anyone interested in it?

Oh, I just posted this in the wrong section. Could the mods this this to its place for me? Thank you.

Here's the deal, two people want it so the highest bidder gets it. It's just a question of who wants to pay more. Also, one thing to mention. I thought I had all the hookups, but I was wrong. It needs that red, yellow and blue one because I can't find mine. And I'm sure the system works as I bought it from an American in Japan who sold PC Engine stuff on the side. One George Plamontouros probably tested it before he sent it to me.

The cable he says is missing is a standard composite video and stereo audio cable.

Just don't ask too much more for it than geepee sold it to ya for, he in 99.9% of cases does not want people to resell the stuff and make money on it.

So he's known around here, well technically speaking, I don't remember exactly how much he sold it to me for. But my reason for selling it is noble in my mind as I need money to pay for my college expenses. Anyway, it's going up on Ebay on the weekend. The people who were interested in it, now won't be getting it.

I was not suggesting anything less than noble, the price is great.  Just before some bidding war started I wanted to remind you of what George preaches.  And selling stuff he sells you on ebay for profit is like the number one most deadly sin you can commit with his kindness, so I really question your morals when this is the way you react.

I don't know who you are, but I am pretty wary of you now.  If you truely intended to sell it here to someone at a good price you would have done so, not get some interest and then make an ebay add.  In fact when someone was interested in it at your asking price, you yourself started some bidding thing to get more money than the first person was going to origionally give you.

Recently a member was kicked by the public like a stinking CDI from this forum, he was named Atreyu, a person who is known to have multiple accounts here so he can troll.  Before you start trying to profit here, no matter the reason, keep in mind that most people here look down upon it. [-X

Also throwing a mini-tantrum and trying to blame me for pointing out what George already probably has told you himself probaby is not going to win you points here.

I am now calling you a liar sir, I do not believe from your own words that you ever intended to sell the FX here to anyone at a good price.  Either that or you have a very twisted mind.  Either way, you are acting like a man caught when the supposed accuser wasn't even trying to discover you.  It's like shouting, "I'm not high, I don't do drugs!" when a couple of police officers pass you on the street.

I must admit that I don't really know anything about this community, I was recommended here by someone else to find someone interested in my Turbo Duo.

Now, I believe I've dealt with George outside of Ebay exclusively, but it was through Ebay that I first contacted him. And I honestly don't remember how much I payed for the system. I paid George with a money order and I always throw away those receipts. That's the truth and I must admit that the way I handled the situation at first wasn't very good, but I tried to rectify it. Although it was done so privately. I apologized to the second person for the way I behaved and I offered it to him for the price I originally mentioned and things were all set to go, but a personal issue prevented him from having the money to pay for the system. It was then that he suggested that I put the system on Ebay and I have followed his advice.

One of my ways of making money (I've worked very little) when I need it is to sell part of my video game collection and I've been doing that for the past few years. I've got a bunch of stuff lying around that I'm willing to sell even for a loss. For example, I sold my Turbo Duo for $375 minus shipping and I paid $400 for it and I'm willing to sell Lunar under $200 when I paid over $200 for it. I don't mind selling for a loss because if I sell a lot of stuff, the money will add up. Hell, I even sold my Stratocaster, which I paid around $500-600 for 4-5 years ago, for a lousy $125. My point is that I'm very willing to sell my stuff to anyone and I'd be willing to give them a deal in the process.

I might aslo mention that I'm prone to saying dumb things on the internet and I might've done it again in this post, but hopefully not.

I must say, the maturity of your reply astounds me.  I do want you to know that I am not saying get out of here yourself by any means, but this place is much more like a family than most places on the internet.  If you're just looking to sell a few items here, then great.  If you decide to stick around to socialize, that's great too, but I just want you to know how things are.

It was a low price you asked for it in the first place and I can understand you wanting a little more money, but we try to avoid competition here and bidding against each other for something, here, just seems really out of place.

Take care Djangoo2

I was going to get it for the 60$ tag, then it was offered at 75$ for double interest, and then I passed.  The other guy didn't want it either. Or something.   for a bit more $$ I could get a boxed minty one...

I got a little over zealous with that and it won't happen again. I suppose I'll stick around, I've got a bunch of PC Engine games that I could do without. I would like to avoid the Ebay route as those fees really add up.
