I always die during the 4th scene, haven't played an awhile, but now I can't wait to get home and fire it up.  I picked up a new Japanese version as well.

we're kindred spirits, just kidding.  I thought this was going to be a darius clone when I first bought it.  You can imagine my surprise.

Here's another one going through my collection;

8. Kyuukyoku Tiger

Cool powerups and definitely worth the pickup.

Yea, DB is no Darius clone  :D  Totally different.

ok, you know that tiger heli for NES has a special place in my heart (my first NES game... it was the only NES shoot-em-up in the store...).  Continuing the theme, one of the first Japanese games I bought back in the day was Kyuukyoku Tiger HuCard.

Nowadays these games are panned by many shoot-em-up fans, but I still love these old skool titles.

I love Mr. Heli and Kyuukyoku Tiger! No one here has mentioned Psychosis yet, at least I am assuming that because I'm too lazy to go back and check (Hell I might've said it already :D ). Not many people talk about this shooter, but I think it's pretty fun and has some crazy stuff in it.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

I have the game, and yes the cover art does indeed rule! Some crazy enemies in that game too.

I really dig the boss designs in R-Type. Especially if I remember correctly the second or third level boss which looked like a vagina or something. The first level boss is awesome as well.

I got R-type complete on SCD  the other day..that game rocks!  the music is killer.  for those of you who have played the hu-card and the cd,  what are the differences? I know that  my version has r-type 1&2 on it plus cinemas,  but I guess the music was changed...but I love the music on my version..plus it's tough!  eventually I will pick up the 2 hucards...r-type 2 never came out in the us right?

The US HuCard of R-Type has all the levels from R-Type on it, so it has both R-Type 1 and 2 HuCards in it.

I have the  PC engine HuCard versions of R-Type and they're split on 2 cards.

I also have the Playstation version R-Types.  It has original R-Type and R-Type II.  R-Type on this CD is no where near the quality for the PC Engine.  Colors are a little different, controls are slow, and there's slowdown?!  I would have never known had I not picked up the PC Engine version.

I'm gonna have to check out Psychosis now.

yeah, the SCD version is great... but I dig the HuCard PSG tunes as well.  I'm pretty certain that the game itself is identical, it simply adds cinemas and Red Book soundtrack.

I love the 80's-sounding tunes on the CD soundtrack (R R R R R R R -type)...

I just played Lords of Thunder for about two hours straight.  I beat a good portion of it before I had to go out to dinner.  What a great game...  I can't get over just how good it was.
Games I Need: Bonk 3 (HuCard), Legend of Hero Tonma, Magical Chase, Soldier Blade, Super Air Zonk.

Got one to sell? PM me!

Yeah Lords is great; I recently beat it for the billionth time actually. If you stick to the Earth armor, it's actually a pretty easy game.
