Check Out My PC Engine Nightstand!
« on: October 03, 2008, 07:12:01 AM »
Since I like to keep it as old school as possible, I wanted to set up something cool to play games on my nightstand  next to my bed, just to get a quick Turbo session in before I fall asleep.  So I came up with this:

I scored one of these kind of rare Sony 5 inch TV's. this is not an LCD, its a good old fashioned CRT in a small size with a built in AM/FM Radio.  I saw it and thought it would go perfect with a white PC Engine for my nightstand, so I wanted to share it with you guys and see what you think.  The picture on it is awesome although the camera did not capture that too well, I think you get the idea.

I did not take any side pictures, but I can tell you the TV goes back about 7 inches.  Keep in mind it is a CRT so it has to have depth for the tube inside.  But this looks way better than LCD's for the old school games.

That's awesome, but how will you ever get any sleep with such awesomeness demanding your attention mere inches from your pillow?

Don't worry Joe, The color is ok, it's just my camera didnt capture the screen right.

Yeah, your camera white-balanced to the screen and turned real life green!

I must say you did a nice job of fixing the photo,  I forgot you were into camera stuff.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

I wouldn't like to play games on midget TVs.  No offense.
