I remember reading comments over the years that one of DKC's more impressive and impossible-on-Genesis special effects is the title screen roll down. The same effect that Comix Zone use on its title screen.

As for the line scrolling, the first EGM preview of SFIIWW described the effect as "impossible on home systems".

He went pretty crazy with his Toy Story review, he basically trashed the game for also appearing on Genesis.
