Cool video. Kuma Soldier looked awesome, but doesn't look like anything the Arcade Card couldn't have dished out.

So what was that black box they were playing from? Just some sort of PCFX testing unit?

yeah.  i heard that there was a lot of discussion as to what the FX would look like.  for a long time, there was no actually body for the console and it was demoed in a clear plastic case through which you could see the motherboard.  the controllers were basically souped up duo RX controllers

in the video, IIRC, there is mention of an interesting shape to the console so clearly they had either not decided on a design or not made it public yet.  i may be mixing this up with another video but i am almost certain it was this one.

It looks like some kind of FX dev unit in a standard pc case.

I am still confused to this day about:

a.) what was planned for the full capablities of Project Tetsujin (aka Iron Man), but not yet in place in the board shown in 1992.

b.) the differences between the planned but not implemented capabilities of a completed Tetsujin and the released 1994 PC-FX console.

c.) the differences between what was actually present in the 1992 board and the  1994 PC-FX console.

"street fight" looked horrible.  The rest I would buy.

I've got to agree. The Robot Fighter game looked weak too.

i think the main differences were thus:
-PC-FX was specifically designed for FMV and animated in-game backgrounds
-PC-FX was supposed to offer more connectivity to PCs- especially PC-98 (hence the ports on the
console and it's PC tower-like appearance
-PC-FX was ultimately a souped up version of the Tetsujin as Hudson incorporated its board to meet
NEC's aims of a super 2D console; a divergent path from the coming polygon revolution (saturn/psx)

-Tetsujin had wide screen & HD capabilities
-The units used on the road for the Caravan and various shows used PC Engine controllers
