Normally I'm a purist (never use emulators); but my PC Engine looks fantastic on my LCD TV, so I guess scanlines aren't a big deal for me.

Love scanlines, so I voted for them. I don't mind if I don't have them (though I do hate LCD!), but they are a plus. And yes, I'm against modding too.

I voted not really. What's most important to me is having a vibrant clear image from real hardware. HDTVs distort this so much, I'd rather play emulation. I really appreciate scanlines, but I don't need to play on an old rotten screen for maximum effect and I don't normally turn them on when playing emulators (mame).

I like the aesthetic of the scanlines when I play on real hardware on a real CRT SDTV in 240p, but I never enable scanlines when I play in an emulator... mainly because they look sooooo bad and not like the real thing.
