Editing a type-o in my username.
« on: November 29, 2008, 10:04:25 AM »
Hey guys, i was wondering if any of the mods could help me out. When i registered, i made a type-o in my username, i registered "tg16manaic" instead of "tg16maniac".  I typed "aic" instead of "iac" I was able to change it on my profile, but when i log in i need to type "tg16manaic" and its annoying. Can any of the mods correct this for me please? Thanks.

I don't think it's changeable-- I think it's just how your account is stored in the database. I'm pretty sure you just have to create a new account if you want to change that.

He's not talking about his screenname, Tatsujin (which any of us can change any time). He's talking about what SMF calls the "username" which is unchangeable after new account creation.

yeah, i had initally corrected it, but then when i went to register the new username it wouldn't let me because the name "tg16maniac" was in use (by me) So i changed it back to "tg16manaic" and then i was able to register "tg16maniac" I'm still waiting for approval though.

Just leave your  name as 'manaic'... the misspelling adds character.  8)
