PICS!   I wanna see.

Heh, OK.

Here's the switch.

Here is the system powered on, switch in US mode. The red access LED is still in the middle, but isn't on in these pics.

And in JP mode:

I do region mods if anyone in the EU is interested. Check my site, in fact they are all that's on there currently. More mods to come.

RG - been meaning to compliment you on the nice work. I have been thinking of doing the same dual color mod and wala....there u have it! I imagine you used the IC switcher some how to shift the LED power, or was that the SPDT switch? Where are you getting your 4551 IC's from?

Thanks, I feel like it gives the R/RX a pretty nice look  8) I'm pulling the power off the switch, although you might be able to rig something off the ICs.

It's been awhile since I ordered any chips, so I'll have to dig and see where I found them. I'd think it was at one of the major places though: Mouser, Jameco, etc.

I got Red Ghost to mod my PC Engine Duo-R a few weeks ago and I've been meaning to post about it. I got the region switch, region power LEDs, and the composite output jacks. I don't see much point in posting pics since it looks pretty much identical to the ones on his site. But I'll say the switch and jacks look like they came on the machine from the factory. No one who doesn't know PC Engines could ever tell it was modded. I got blue and green LEDs in hope that I could still see the red CD access LED. The green one is about the same brightness while the blue one is a little brighter, but I can easily see the red one with either lit up. He left me with one sweet rig to take the place of my Turbografx which I may be selling.

That's always an option.

Just a recap on what I've read on them here on this forum (might want to search a bit here also for more details):
-Customer support from them is practically non-existent, and I think there's a message board you have to post on once you place your order, or they'll never ship your stuff.
-The cards are a bitch to get working properly (especially under Vista) but are awesome once you get going.
-64Mbit is actually 8MB and 128Mbit is actually 16MB. So don't expect to fit 200 roms on a card.

Hello Guys,

I know this is an older thread but I would like to throw my name out there! I have recently started getting into modding and what not. Im not trying to steal customers from you Red Ghost so I hope there is no hard feelings. I have so far dabbled with Turbografx, DUO, PC Engine DUO's and Dreamcast. Im eventually going to get into more systems but I gotta have the money to get em and test things out. Since I am newer to this I am not really charging alot for stuff. Im really more interested in getting my name out there as long as long as I break even I think I would mostly be happy. I am awaiting a system right now from Exile for a Total cap rep., led mod, region mod, and RGB mod.

So Far I have done:

Region Modded a Turbografx-16, DUO (JAP)
LED Mod on a DUO (JAP), Dreamcast
Total Cap Replacment on a DUO (JAP)
Upgrade an Xbox 360 hardrive to 120 Gig using a Western Digital Scorpio 120G HDD

Im always willing to try new things! I have a steady hand with soldering and am very maticulous with my work. Im more of a perfectionist if you will.

I must think all the people that have posted helpful repair threads on this site! If not for those threads Im sure most of my work would not have been able to be accomplished.

I am stateside living in Texas.

Check out this SITE for some pics of my region mod...I need to get a new camera so I can take better pics but so far this is some of my work.

Thanks for reading!
