There's the promised "dhange"   I bet this won't get anywhere near as much flack/press as TEH EVIL BUSH'S illegal wiretaps "for national security."

Will Afghanistan equal the new Iraq and will this equal the new Patriot Act?

#1, the law hasn't passed.  It's something in the design phase.

#2, you might want to wait for a less sensational source before getting all freaked out.

The fact the Obama administration supports said law says a lot  wether it passes or not though.

This is ACTA, no?  First off, the search of such devices without probable cause is already allowed by the Dept. of Homeland Security, so I find the provision forcing ISPs to provide info. without warrants far more disturbing.  Secondly, this was negotiated by most countries in the developed world, not just the US.  Finally, this agreement was made during the Bush administration and isn't something that the US could easily back out of now.

But hey, don't let the facts keep anyone from jumping on the f*ck Obama train.

So Obama can claim "change" and alter/completely revert MANY Bush administration policies, but not back out of this? I have disliked Obama/his policies WELL before th election, and frankly to many people are turning ablind eye to things he does as "he HAS to bebetter than Bush."

That's a silly argument; by your logic he'd have to do a complete 180 on every current policy to be able to claim 'change'.  Admittedly, he could kill this agreement, but laying the blame for this crap's creation entirely at his feet is just plain stupid, as his administration had nothing to do with its origination or substance.

I have disliked Obama/his policies WELL before th election, and frankly too many people are turning a blind eye to things he does as "he HAS to be better than Bush."

...and the right turned a blind eye to many things that Bush did, and the left turned a blind eye to many things that Clinton did, and the right turned a blind eye to many things that the elder Bush did, and the right turned a blind eye to many things that Reagan did, and so on and so on.

In two important ways, yes.  First, at least you will know when your privacy is being invaded and you've been denied due process.  Second, these searches are only at airports and international borders where you're already required to submit to luggage searches, whether criminal activity is suspected or not.

Some politicians did complain (chiefly Feingold) and tried to add requirements for reasonable suspicion of illegal activity before a search could be legally conducted.  Some other countries have added such verbiage, so hopefully it'll be added here.

I know about all that, however, I have never supported Obama. I think he has been full of shit since he jumped in the race.  I don't think he's as bad as Bush who I really hate for the warrantless wiretapping and all that other jazz.  Also I thought the search of devices was allowed by the DoH only when crossing a boarder? Doesn't this change it to include domestic areas too?  I mean I'm sure Obama is nice for some, but I really really wish Ron Paul had gotten elected.  He was the only politician that has been making any kind of sense....
