It took me about 2.5 hours and I followed the directions over at mmmonkey's site. I thought that lifting pin 29 would be the hard part.... damn was I wrong. That took me about 15 seconds to lift and solder a wire to, finding a suitable ground was another story. Apparently grabbing the neg side of any capacitor doesnt work. I just ended up using one of the legs from the main power switch on the bottom of the board. But tapping the 16 pins on the top were such a pain. Well, the bottom 8 were. Not to mention getting ground on pin 18 of the hucard slot. But, she works like a charm now. You guys that do this all the time definitely get my respect! Now for some pictures, because what's a thread without pics?
Oh, and is this possible (space-wise) to do in a Turbo Express? I am going to be doing a full cap replacement soon (well, whenever the caps come in) and was thinking about doing this mod at the same time.
