Anyone else own the DVD version of Consulting Detective? The picture is almost too clear: it didn't look quite this cheesy on the Duo, did it?

Ahh, we are kindred spirits. I've wanted to get this DVD game as well:

Quote from: "quoting myself is cheezy, but I'm doing it anyway..."
But the best part of the Summer CES coverage was when Mr. Ireland discussed  NEC's New Interactive Display (NID) technology (video compression that was ultimately used in.... the PC-FX console, perhaps?).  Mr. Ireland is poetic when he discusses the potential applications of this technology:  "Imagine being able to play a game like Sherlock Holmes, but this time the picture is full-screen and free of jerkiness, and the actors' voices are totally in sync with their lips."  Indeed!  In 1999 your wish came true, my friend, when Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective was recycled as a "DVD video game" (published by Infinite Ventures, who, I suppose, acquired the original content from ICOM). Yes, you know I want to find a copy of this DVD game.  I'm serious.  It might very well be the best version of the game.  Here is a review of the TurboGrafx-CD version of Sherlock Holmes, in case you were curious.

I know I can buy it for $20 new, but I still haven't, since its a novelty item. The DVD uses the original footage, so it will be much better looking than the PC, DUO, and SegaCD versions, methinks. I want it for its cheeze factor.  Please send me a copy. :)

Yeah I mainly got it because it seemed like something that would be offered for a little while, then the company would go belly up and you'd never see it again. Sure enough Amazon no longer carries it (not even used) but its still available on the company's website.
