You guys sure can be vicious. Shame on you! [-X
We still don't know whether Michael really did those things he was accused of, so I don't understand why everyone treats it as a fact. Yes, he was eccentric, but he was also one of the great musicians and entertainers of out time. This is just another example of the American Tradition of building up a celebrity before tearing them down.

Anyway, I had just become a fan of MJ not too long ago, so his death came as quite a shock. I was actually really upset. MTV was showing a marathon of his videos, which allowed me to see Thriller for the first time in full, but it was very bittersweet.

To show my respects, I bought the 25th Anniversary Edition of Thriller from Amazon.

So long, Michael Jackson. May you be a Smooth Criminal wherever you go. :-({|=

Yeah right, we're all just a bunch of meanies.  He never did anything out of the ordinary.... like name both his sons 'Prince', giving his second born the nickname 'Blanket' to avoid confusion.... or dangle his child over a balcony rail.... or go out of his way to spend time with children rather than adults (sexual or not, it's inappropriate).... or modify his face in all sorts of strange and wondrous ways.... or constantly grab his crotch.... or cross dress while shopping in France.... or wear pajamas to his child molestation trial.... or regularly don a surgical mask while out in public.... or sleep in an oxygen tent.... etc.  Yup, he was perfectly normal.

This is just another example of the American Tradition of building up a celebrity before tearing them down.

You remember the rumors of him sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber and buying the Elephant Man's bones?  Neither were true- yet do you know where the rumors originated from?  Look it up.  He started those rumors himself.  He wanted this circus around him- wanted to be Peter Pan.  ADDED a forking cleft in his chin for crissakes.  Had an amusement park built so he could have kids arrive by the busloads- and the most special of his "special" friends stayed for sleepover in a secret bedroom hidden behind a walk-in closet adorned with framed pictures of babies in diapers.  He got abused by his father- boo hoo.  So did his six other siblings- you don't see them running around with chimpanzees and MaCauly Culkin acting like retarded ten year olds with a you-show-me-yours-I'll-show-you-mine fetish.

RoyVegas - Those jokes made me .

Arjak - I saw the Thriller video when it came out back when I was 5 and I still get a little creeped out by it. If you can find it, check out The Making of Thriller video. Good stuff if you like to see how the special effects were done. Should be on YouTube somewhere.

I'll miss Michael Jackson the entertainer. He wrote a lot of great songs, his videos were cutting edge and his dance moves were off the charts. Michael Jackson the person was very unusual. He did a lot of charitable work, but also a lot of things that others have mentioned that made me wonder WTF.

I think that Johnny Carson wanted to do another episode of the Tonight Show, so he got his cohort and two big guests to join him on the other side.

It bugs the f*ck out of me that people still believe that MJ was some sort of sick child molester. That was merely a stupid prank started up by some money-grubbing fool that turned into one unfounded case after another as the gold diggers crawled their way out of the woodwork. It was bleedingly obvious from day one that it was a cash scam ruse set up by shitheads who had nothing better to do than to go after someone who was far more successful and wealthy than them. Oh I know, I'm gonna start accusing Aaron of eating my cats because his forum's more popular than mine!

Didn't the people who first took Michael to court over the whole child molesting thing eventually admit on record that it was all a sham?  Yeah, sleeping with young kids in your bed is crazy and weird as hell.  But I don't think he did anything to them sexually.  At least I certainly hope not.

Just curious about the people who say he isn't a molester. If you had kids would you just happily drop your kids off at his house for a sleepover?  Granted I have no actual proof that he did or didn't do anything to them.  My understanding is that he admitted giving them alcohol, he did have the odd strange hidden room AND he did sleep in bed with them.  All of these things he admitted, unless im mistaken.  Being a parent I can say there is no way in hell I would leave him alone with my kids for ANY amount of time.

Just because he didn't go to jail for it doesn't mean it didn't happen.  I sped to work this morning and didn't get pulled over.  Does that make me any less of a speeder?  There are people in jail that didn't commit a crime but evidence said they did, so in jail they sit.  There are criminals on the street that never got caught for their crimes.  Are they not still criminals?

Personally I don't know if he did it and neither does anyone else that wasn't actually there.  For the sake of safety I surely wouldn't take the risk with my kids being around him.  Would you?
All is well. :)

I don't trust my kids in the company of anyone, so the answer is automatically no. But that's besides the point. MJ was yet another case of what happens when the media runs unchecked, and people fall victim to the powers of suggestion and force-fed morality.

When a grown man is rich enough to dole out significant hush money, admits to sleeping in bed with children that aren't his, has a secret bedroom filled with toys and framed pictures of babies in diapers for "special sleepovers", admits to giving children alcohol during these sleepovers- I'm sorry man- you have to stop giving this person the benefit of the doubt points ago- honestly its totally insane and a shortcut to thinking to suggest otherwise.  As far as the parents of kids who were milking him for money- what do you expect when the first thing Jackson does is start giving them money and sending them on vacations to woo them into letting him take their kids (which is how it went down in some instances)?  He was asking for it- same goes for the media frenzy that surrounded him his whole life- he loved the fame- made up rumors about himself which he then used as leverage to justify his own paranoia- even in his Leave Me Alone video there were Elephant Man bits- and the buying of those bones he fabricated himself.  He created his own circus- even literally- his own amusement park and petting zoo and hundreds of freaks in his employ and bizarre Hollywood friends like latter years Marlon Brando.  Guy even had his own kids dress up in costume to go to the freaking book store.  Seriously- give me a freaking break already.

And I'm not just out to bash dead famous dudes.  Sadly I was a big Michael Jackson fan when I was kid- there's even photos somewhere of me wearing some Thriller tee-shirt.  I'd watch the John Landis Thriller tape EVERY day obsessively.  The guy had AMAZING talent- but that dude's been dead for a LONG time.  When a guy starts making videos of him molesting himself on top of a car, breaking the car windows and morphing into a giant cat- you start to realize that you may as well be looking at an alien- that's how far removed from normalcy this guy was- serious issues- even before any of the sleepovers and jesus juice and hidden bedrooms he wasn't the kind of guy I'd want kids around.  This guy became creepy ages ago.

he added the cleft in his chin , the constant plastic surgery, and hair relaxation to go along with his pigmentation disorder.

I always thought he wore a wig in his later years.  His hair just doesn't seem natural to me.

well thats what happens when you take a super afro and drench it in relaxer and comb it thru til its straight.  You get a funny looking chemically altered mess.

Im talking about his hair, not his face btw. lol

Oh because he is 90% plastic. They decided to melt him and make legos out of him, so kids can play with him!
