If you did not lie then at the very least you intentionally misled, particularly when stating that the account on PCED was not yours after you had linked to it as yours. Is it any wonder people smelled a rat? And one thing about this forum - once people smell bullshit, there is nowhere to hide, and they are very good at smelling it. Perhaps if you were a little more forthcoming with the 'facts' a little earlier this would not have gone on for so long.

Did I start this debate? :-P

Well, I started a PC Engine collection a few months ago... I really like the NEC consoles and games.

I'm from Brazil, and for me, paying US$ 1.600,00 for a game is a complete utopia. I don't even earn this amount of money IN A YEAR. So, it would be very nice if Thibaut could share this Sapphire prototype with the community. Please, Thibaut. :-D

And sorry for my poor english.

No,i answered to nat insults towards Thibaut.
Again, his insults come first. Be honest for one time.

Riddle me this, Batman:  How did nat insult Thibaut?

In his post, nat decried the act of not sharing as selfish; he did not label Thibaut as selfish nor resort to any name calling.  You can not apply nat's words directly to Thibaut, as he had yet to receive the disc and was therefor unable to commit the act that was characterized as selfish.  For a supposed lawyer, you're quite illogical and quick to dole out an unsubstantiated claim.

Furthermore, I'm beginning to suspect you don't know the definition of the word 'selfish'.  It is most commonly defined as the act of placing one's own needs or desires above the needs or desires of others, which Thibaut's response clearly shows to be applicable:

I pay to much money for those collectors, I work so hard all the year to get money with some sacrifices, I can't immediately give them.

This unarguably shows that Thibaut is trying to protect his wallet (i.e. his own needs/desires) when he won't share the game (i.e. the needs/desires of others).  Whether or not he is justified in this action is entirely irrelevant in the argument regarding selfishness.

Necromancer: I'm a lawyer. I'm not talking without knowing the subject, like you do.

That sounds like a snap judgment from someone who knows nothing about me.  Don't you think that's a tad hypocritical considering you've complained multiple times of similar behavior?

I can tell for a fact French courts and US courts have NOTHING in common. But you can check by yourself if you want.
You're based on common law, from Magna Carta.
And we're not. Procedures, laws, the entire law system..about 60% of it changes.
Class action suits, procedure to establish guilt,etc.. all of this is completely different. Fortunately for us ^^

Is it nothing in common, which would be 100% different, or is it 60% different?  You can't have it both ways, so stow your haughty attitude and air of superiority.  Moreover, I didn't state with absolute certainty that the French legal system was identical to the U.S. system, but only that I doubted that there is much difference in the assignation of blame.

I'm sure you're envious about my collection

LOL- it always ends the same with you collector types.  I'm envious/jealous of your collection.  Get over yourself guy- you don't even have PC Cocoron like you initially pretended.  I have over 260 PCE titles- and I don't plan on getting more than 330- I can't play the bulk of titles that you have that I don't because I can't read Japanese.  I also cleared 90 PCE games so I'm not exactly envious of your alleged clears that you somehow "share" with your Wonder Twin.

Do you have issues with twins?
I never pretended i had this game, that's only in your mind.
And i really don't care about it either,i have 25 other fullsets to care of.and unreleased games/protos on 25 other systems then i could be interested in.

If you don't read japanese, then too bad for you. Do as i did when i was 12: learn it.
It'll open you doors of great RPGs and Tactics RPGs. The pure essence of PCE spirit.
So you'll buy and clear more than your alleged 260 titles.

Well, lesson is learned. To not share with anyone,to not even speak of such stuff with anyone. That's not worth the hassle.
Such as i remember donating for the Space Fantasy Zone proto back in the time, and when one of your members (friend?) decided to sell it by itself on Yahoo, by greed. Then we decided with Omar to release it for free. Because greed is everywhere.

Oh cut the crap already- his own friend- cosmos99 wouldn't even ask him for a copy because he knows he wouldn't get it.  You guys can stop the act.

And now it's suddenly you responsible for the release of Space Fantasy Zone?  Funny how you didn't mention this before- surely it would've been the first thing you said if it was true.  As for people selling it- 1) Who cares since the rom was already available? and 2) there was a thread about that here- I don't believe that any of us knew personally the guy who was making official-looking copies of it- and the guy did a good job with the package anyway- kudos for him.

Riddle me this, Batman:  How did nat insult Thibaut?

Here it is, Robin:
To tatsujin's post talking PRECISELY about Thibaut:
he statet in an other forum, that he will feed us with informations about the game and its differences to the regular one. but i guess, he will not like to share the data as an ISO with us

He answered:
"See, I just don't get that. That is selfishness to the ultimate degree and there is no justifiable reason for it."

He's clearly talking about Thibaut. There is no confusion possible about this.
Tatsujin said "HE" about Thibaut, no mistake about it. and Nat answered to that. To "supposed" Thibaut's action,so said by Tatsujin.

And i'm not a supposed lawyer. I AM. So my master in business law degree says.
And i'm not rich either. Lawyer condition in Europe isn't the same at all than in USA,but US people looks so closed on themselves (looking to your comments) they wouldn't realize that.

Furthermore, I'm beginning to suspect you don't know the definition of the word 'selfish'.  It is most commonly defined as the act of placing one's own needs or desires above the needs or desires of others, which Thibaut's response clearly shows to be applicable:
This unarguably shows that Thibaut is trying to protect his wallet (i.e. his own needs/desires) when he won't share the game (i.e. the needs/desires of others).  Whether or not he is justified in this action is entirely irrelevant in the argument regarding selfishness.

And? Where is the harm here? Are you still living under communism era?
And i'm pretty sure you're doing the same with your properties, such as your car...unless you let everybody in your neighbourhood using your car,or your home...
Nat- said: there is no justifiable reason for it

How so? He worked hard to earn the money to buy it. Isn't it a reason enough to enjoy his buy?
If you go the shop,do you immediately give away your buyings to the first guy in the street?

Necromancer: I'm a lawyer. I'm not talking without knowing the subject, like you do.

That sounds like a snap judgment from someone who knows nothing about me.  Don't you think that's a tad hypocritical considering you've complained multiple times of similar behavior?

It seems to be the commun rule here, to speak without knowing the person, you beginning about Thibaut. On your SECOND post on this thread, you say:
"I've no doubt that if nat had the inclination to buy one, he wouldn't hesitate to share it with others.  Why?  Because he's not a selfish scrooge.  "
What is that supposed to mean? That Thibaut is a selfish scrooge?
since the whole thread is about him and his buying. Explain yourself..who were you pointing at/thinking of when you said that?

Too, if you're a lawyer as well, then you're one not knowing a damn thing about French law or other law systems over the world. That's a shame US doesn't learn other law systems in this world to their own lawyers. It could be useful.

[/quote]

That's an EXPRESSION. You're going ridiculous. You really don't understand the expression "they have nothing in common"?
If you say "joe& Ted have nothing in common" will you really answer "no that's wrong, they have something in common, they're both men! So, no, they have something in common"
Now tell me, are you THAT PICKY?! Or even a french stupid lawyer like me understand better that expression than you, an english native?

There is clearly a difference in assignation of blame. You can doubt it all the wya you want, that won't change facts. Read books, and see it by yourself.
In France, the example given by someone else ,which was:
normally illegal activity is excused in U.S. law is when it prevents a greater crime from being committed or in matters of self defense.

is COMPLETELY prohibited.Illegal activity cannot be excused under any circumstance, even that one.you'll be pursued for doing that.

And opposedly, if you get in a fight started by someone else who punched you first, the "excuse de provocation" can be used and generally the first one will be only punished, since the 2nd one only acted because the1st one provoked it. Look at "excuse de provocation", you'll get your answer. And I'm not talking about "legitime defense" here.
That's why i said the first one, starting this, is the responsible one. That's how it works here. For 200 hundred years, with the 1801 Civil Code.

Lol. You really don't know what happened then..? You don't know much.
We donated for the release.  At the time, it wasn't released ANYWHERE. The money was collected, and we got the game, but nobody was supposed to share it. Then i remember a BT Garner's friend/person he knows (so was told on smspower board) was selling it for making bucks on Yahoo Japan. That was a huge shock, to see such "betrayal" was possible. I remember huge hate towards BTgarner back at the time,in french forums. Don't know if that was deserved at all.
The sales being seen on YJA, a majority of the donators decided (not me only, many of the forum who donated) that the best way to cut the crap out,is to release it for free. To everyone, not just the few of us.
At that PRECISE moment, it was released wildly. But that was NOT the original plan at all.
Ask Omar from SMSpower then, by yourself. He's probably a liar too, huh?
I named you some of the biggest websites on VG communities (Guardiana for MD,NESWorld for NES?SMS power for SMS),but clearly they're really lying to cover me. How convenient. I really have great friends ^^

That's the kind of story that make those kind of games so hard to obtain now from japanese collectors. Your ideal (sharing the stuff with everybody), they don't take it. that's not what they want.

For your 2), i know Tobias William Reich. Since he created his Garden of War. But the fact he produced those "looking good"copies has nothing to do with that story, he produced them YEARS after the donation/release. I was not talking about that seller, i'm talking about the "leak" between the donators.

Good night,boys.

Yeah- he sold it years after the release- which is why I said "As for people selling it- 1) Who cares since the rom was already available?"- so why you're typing YEARS in caps like its some kind of point is beyond me.

And you're speaking of this guy that leaked it- you talk like he's some kind of a crook.  Good for him.  It's because of this guy (and Nat) that I myself have a CDR copy- he's my hero.

"The money was collected, and we got the game, but nobody was supposed to share it."

Typical.

Another thing- you're leaving out the chapter on Space Fantasy Zone being released along with a Japanese PCEngine fanzine.  How does that fit in?

Are you stupid?
I never talked about Tobias sales. If he sells them, good for him.
I wroted years in caps to clearly say he has nothing to do with the leak, if that was too hard to understand for you. It probably was.

About your "typical"comment, we don't dictate the rules. The owners do. If japanese owners want it done that way,you follow it.If not, well ,then that will be te last deal you'll make with them.
That was the last one.

If the leak guy is your hero, then great for you. But he's a crook. He betrayed dozens (hundreds?) of other people.  Nothing to be proud of.
That's partly because of him you won't get any other stuff anymore, because japanese collectors didn't like it. Enjoy, that was the last. Thanks to him. Your hero is the one that stole your dreams.
Kudos.

This is a hilarious catch-22 you got going on- man if you're a lawyer you suck- flat out.
You're saying that no one will ever share games anymore because someone shared one?  Is that what you're trying to say?  And this makes sense how?
You guys DIDN'T WANT TO SHARE.  Some guy shared it- and the result is what?  YOU STILL DON'T WANT TO SHARE.

If I ever need a catch-22 defense I'll be sure to consult with the lawfirm of Adol, Adol and Pinocchio.
