PC in a Duo-R shell
« on: August 04, 2009, 05:15:58 AM »
A big thanks to Takumi Suidu for the heads up on this one.

For those who aren't on the Turbo Mailing List: a complete PC shoehorned into a Duo-R case (babelfish translation).  Though it lacks a game pad for gaming, it partially makes up for the omission with a PCE mouse converted to USB and a NEC branded keyboard.  What's not to love about a fairly competent PC with Blue-ray playback and a TV tuner (the HuCard slot was commandeered for the decoder card), all wrapped up in such an awesome package?  Pretty f*cking awesome, if you ask me.  8)

Damn, even fitted a hotswap drive.  Pretty impressive.  I've been wanting to do this with something like a Dreamcast, since they are cheap to pick up and wouldnt end up killing a Duo.
Another douche trying to obtain a full Turbo collection.  119/146 so far.  Got a long way to go. Half way there. Hit the 100 mark. ich bein ein obeyer

Although it is a shame that a DUO was sacrificed for this, the final product is amazing.

Love the keyboard and mouse!

Perhaps this Duo was sacrificed to save the lives of many of his Duo brethren; that or his guts were transplanted into an awesome looking custom mecha case with rgb and region mods, built-in tap, and wireless capabilities.  A guy can dream anyway.

Agreed. Never.

One would hope that the technology was saved so that someone's system may live another day. Dream away!

I had power supply, CDROM, harddrive and all mounted and then decided that buying a tiny mobo to fit it was gay, so i took my gear out , replaced the 1541 drive mech and dropped a few sledgehammer blows down on it.  I felt like MC Hammer.

I gotta admit... I admire the handiwork, but have a hard time understanding the motivation.  In a year or two it's gonna be a crappy outdated pc in place of what woulda been a nice duo.

Now if it was a PC AND a Duo (and not via emulation...) ... game on!
