Tried it with a few SuperGrafx games, and it works quite well.  I'm impressed.

Would like a full-screen mode though!

A version of Mednafen that can actually be used and understood by more than %10 of the people that download it?. f*ck. I feel like I'm living in the future!

I'll try it tonight.

Starting the program isn't the problem for most command line programs -- Making adjustments on the fly, however...  ](*,)

We've had this argument so many times before that I find it amazing that you evidently want to go into it again.

Since this is nothing but a front end to a program everyone already loves (those that can use it anyway) one can conclude that your "yuck" comment, and subsequent sarcasm about difficulty (ironic as all hell because the first game I played with this was Makaimura) mean only that you actually prefer things to be difficult. Noobs will now use Mednafen, breaking into an area previously reserved for socially backward command line loving elitists. You're a big macho programmer, yada yada. We got it. A long time ago. Meanwhile I haven't regularly used a command line interface since my last C64 crapped out on me in the late 80s. Most computer users today, %99.99999 of them, have literally never used a command line program. Ever. Similarly they don't own buggy whips, drink castor oil, or use outdoor toilets. They start their cars with a key, rather than a crank. They've never had polio. Maybe this makes them retarded pussies, or maybe one of the benefits of the technological progress that is intrinsic to the human spirit is that it makes things easier. Its probably a bit of both.

I can't spell for shit (especially long-ass nonsensical rom names with too many special characters in them, the name of who dumped the rom, the file extension, etc), I can't type for shit, and I don't have a mental inventory of the exact spelling of every file and every directory on my home network. Despite this I have no trouble doing all sorts of wacky-ass shit on computers every day.  I have a spreadsheet that calculates my average MPG since the day I bought my car. I've recorded dozens of songs, mostly using totally computer generated sounds, I've produced 30 or so episodes of my podcast, I've editied thousands of photos, created and maintained multiple web sites, scheduled the next three months of my life, and pirated several hundred GB of crap. Professionally I've performed thousands of hours of testing on engines and transmissions, all on computers. Incidentally, there is NOTHING with a command line interface in a modern dynamometer lab. I assume its because time is money and people like to get shit done.

So anyway, despite all my successes with computers this command line shit gives me a snag. Therefore command line isn't "hard" persay, but it does, for no reason, add some level of complexity to things were decades ago made effortless. I don't really enjoy typing in a long ass string of shit only to have my efforts rejected because I used the wrong case, or the slash was facing the wrong way, forcing me to type all that duncus again. I only know WTF name to type in the first place because I have it open in another window anyway...so why not just hit Control+O?

I'd rather click a mouse twice than type in dozens of characters. I'll validate my ego some other way. I don't give a f*ck how awesome you are, or what a lazy idiot I am, I just want to play a f*cking game.

Speaking of my own ineptitude...

I can't seem to run any CDs. I can run HuCards, no problem, but when I tell it to open a .cue it tells me I can't retrieve the file info (from the .bin) because there is no such file or directory. I'm paraphrasing because, you know...no copy and paste.

Also, how can I run CDs right out of the drive?

UPDATE: Fixed it. All I had to do was change the file extension. Still don't know how to run actual CDs though.

Related: Does anyone know if there is something to make Mednafen idiot proof for OSX?

I don't like this as much as Let's Mednafen!.  Is there any way to disable or select a different graphic filter?

I'll validate my ego some other way.

By typing long posts in an attempt to demonstrate how outdated command lines are and to show off your 1337 computer skillz, eh?

Yeah, pretty much...except the 1337 part. That's not me. I wasn't trying to prove I'm 1337, I was trying to prove that being 1337 is f*cking useless these days when anyone can get work done sans 1337-ness.

This is cool! My only beef so far is that I can't run CD games, and selecting the reset button from the menus causes the program to crash.

Besides that, very awesome!

mednafen is mainly a developer's emulator, and most developers couldn't give a shit about a GUI since they probably already use the command line for their toolchain. One of mednafen's strengths is that it is not bogged down with a heavy GUI. It's got nothing to do with 1337|\|3$$. Though I don't remember arguing with you about it, SoZ...perhaps you were arguing with yourself, or one of your imaginary friends that you named after me?
