That's pretty interesting. It is fun to see all of the changes that were made in the process of developing this game.

I haven't watched the videos yet, though.

Pretty interesting stuff.  It's too bad that they dumbed it down so much and didn't keep the unique smart bombs for each character, but the characters were certainly improved in the final version, especially so when one looks at player one and his malformed thumb and the tickle-me-emo douche (player four).

Thanks for penning the linked summary, but there's little need to hit a hornet's nest with a stick.  If you think so little of this forum as a whole, then feel free to leave.  :|

yeah.. i like it much more as it is now. every bit! ok, like to see more advance levels, but i take it that this sample only contains the very start of the game.

the big red fireball attack looks cool though!

Necromancer : I am agree with you, I don´t want to talk about that anymore. I like very much this forum, unfortunately I don´t forget some words and posts from several members.

Tat : yes, this Sample is only a "start-project".

If someone want details with a translation french to english, just tell me.

An other very interesting maboroshi game review will be on Nekofan website soon. I will post the link.

@ Thibaut: I didn't see any mention of it in babelfish's mangled translation, but did you notice any difference in loading times, similar to the difference between Fatal Fury 2 and Fatal Fury Special?

Good question, I don´t notice difference but I will check it.

Edit :

Loading time after the player selection to Stage 1 start :
- Sapphire : about 10 secondes.
- SYO : about 30 secondes.

BUT Sapphire have a long time loading just at the beginning of the game (just after the Super CD-ROM² menu) and not the SYO Sample.
Then it´s possible that SYO loads all data in one time, and Sapphire loads "general" data at the beginning and loads just each Stage while 10 sec.
So I think the SYO loading time is not optimize.

Thanks for checking.  I'd guess that Sapphire's initial load is only for the intro animation, but perhaps it loads some generic goodies as well.  Either way, I'm glad they trimmed down the stage load times, as 30 seconds between each stage would kinda suck (*cough* NGCD *cough*).

You missed what babelfish found:

Quote
No music nor sound effects is yet present at this level of advance.

Damn, where the hell was that sentence?

EDIT: Ha! I totally missed that when reading the page. That's what happens when I skim the page and get distracted by the pictures... my French skills are weak to start with :).

I'm pretty sure that player four is a chick.  I could be wrong, I mean, there's plenty of girly men with long hair in anime's, but, something about this one screams chick to me. :D
