Now I don't feel so bad that I couldn't play MM2 on my ancient cell phone! Of course, I'm still curious about the cellular version, but...
This iPhone/iPod MM2 has me STOKED!
Although I loved the Red Book from the PCE Neo Nectaris (it was refined, elegant), I'm eager to hear something new.
Plus, if done correctly, I think the game mechanics/flow of the game can be greatly improved by not being chained to the standard UI.
Of course, the key phrase is "if done correctly"... I'm hoping that we will get the benefits of a mouse with MM2 on iPod/iPhone.
Nit-picking:
1. The units/terrain look fine, aesthetically, as does the battle screen.
2. However, I'm really not liking the lame, glossy, slick look of the data displayed on the bottom margin of this screen:
3. See the "40%" on the terrain? Ugly!
4. See the pause button? Blah.
5. See the checkered flag? Out of place.
I know I am nitpicking, but GODDAMN, is it really too much to ask for a nice, cohesive look and feel?
Clearly, I have my pet peeves, and with MINIMAL effort Hudson could have tweaked the UI aesthetics.
Dear lord, I have problems.
And if the game plays/flows nicely, I am happy.
But still... can't we have everything? Like.... new maps!
