Super Air Zonk Turbo CD

Today is the first time I have ever played Super Air Zonk. I have been a "non-Super" Air Zonk fan for quite some time. I have to say WOW! Air Zonk is to Super Air Zonk as Sonic the Hedgehog is to Sonic CD. Super Air Zonk looks better, sounds amazing, and features much more refined gameplay than it's predecessor. I now fully understand why this game tends to cost so much on ebay and used game sites. The game is a mini-masterpiece for when it was made (also like Sonic CD). Kudos to Magic Engine for running the game prefectly. Best gaming experience I've had in a long time now.

Yeah i really like it too.. And quite affordable, at least in imported form. I'm not sure how much it stacks up to the original, though I'm not much of a hucard player. Seemed like the hucard was better, but I like the SCD! It would be great if someone would make Zonk III.

Leave it to these 2,after they get done with whatever it is they are making now, maybe they can spit some kind of Zonk clone out there for you to burn off on Short Strategy Sony cd-rs.

I want to pick up the Japanese version sometime. It seems like I might prefer the SCD version over the HuCard.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Glad you like the site. VT stands for Vintech. It was selflessly named by my friend Vincent who created and runs the site. There is no particular reason for the name, other than it was better than some of the other options. We try to focus on quality of content and consistency. We pride ourselves on being the only emulation site of our size with no ads or pop-ups. Happy browsing!

OK, now your spreading the love a bit too much, you don't know me, you clearly don't like me....I don't care about your opinion of me...But keep it contained. You have no way of forming an opinion of me. Just that I think you like a very bad game that MANY people didn't like and also think sucks. You have no idea what is going on over at Frozen Utopia and I still have yet to see you do anything more than show your character.....you know what, your bringing the character of everyone on these boards down and if we are all lucky enough you will be banned....I would like to appologise that you all have to hear this all over the boards because someone has some sort of personal grudge

I don't support anyone could tell me what tracks 13 and 23 are for on Super Air Zonk (something tells me Hard mode or they were Japanese only like the vocal tracks)?

I'll see if I can figure it out. In the mean time, check out this sweet case art, courtesy of the West Exit:

Awesome Boxart. I've always liked Japan game boxart. For some reason, most Japanese games tend to be flashier and often times include very robust anime images. Hopefully I can find scans of the US boxart so I can make a mock jewel case. My copy doesn't have a jewel case or manual.

My personal view from limited play is that it isn't very good.

It seems to increase the flaws of the original but loses most of the style/aesthetics.

It just feels like a rush job, like an american produced effort or something.

I wouldn't go so far as to say its bad, but definately not nearly as good as the first game.
