One US boxart that I remember liking was Sidearms. Good Western-style art, like something you would see on the cover of a sci-fi novel or the painted covers to old Atari games (late 70s/early 80s Atari):

I don't mind the U.S cover for, SideArms but i kind of like the JPN one more

It's got the mech on it and all 8)

And despite being a crap game, I like the cover to It Came from the Desert, kind of reminds me of a 50s B-movie poster:

"It Came From The Desert" I believe is a tribute to 1950's/60's B-movies.

It totally is.  I highly recommend that folks go out and rent (or buy, since it should be cheap enough) the fabulous film "THEM!" ... ICFTD is an homage to this (and many other) films...

Yep, I enjoy the game very much :D . Don't take my word for it though, haha!

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

I agree with anyone who said Side Arms or Dracula X. Also I like petty much all of the Ys covers, not sure which one is my favorite.

And Dungeon Explorer 2,while having a cool cover on it's own is mostly notable for being so much better than the hilarious cover art of the first one.
