SUPA STAR SOULJA YOU SAY?!

Thats a coincidence, as i was just dipping around with my favorite song from that game earlier.

I made this happen.

It mostly started as a drum-machine tester since the beat is awesome.

using a roland DR-550 I found on craigslist!

Haha cool. I always felt that this tune should have a choral element behind it though!

It's the bit at 26 seconds in (on your remix). The original has a sound in the background that always bring to my mind a choir giving it some.

hey I guess I could see that.   Let me try noodlin around with it. Maybe I can get a choir-noise of acceptable-type

LOVE THIS. LOVE THIS. LOVE THIS.

Let's see, I've listened to it two dozen times this morning and it hasn't lost a bit of awesome.

You must do some more stuff in this vein. You must. :)

This certainly has promise (I like sunteam_paul's idea), but don't bastardize your original vision, lest you betray the synth!

Basically, you can do whatever you want :)

hows that

This track needs to be smacked around a bit! The choir is NICE, but subdued. Crank it up a little :)

My opinion, clearly only worth 2 cents (at most):
Quote
For me, the choir version is a straight-forward "cover" of the original and lacks all the fun (playfulness) & energy of your original (sssdrumtest).

The lead synths in nowwithmoarchoir are "truer" to the original tune... but...

I say: instead of being conservative, go a little crazy, even gratuitous, with at least one element in your new version. You don't have to necessarily change your lead synth if you mess around with other elements.

For example, I think it would be neat if you were heavy-handed with the chorus... ALTERNATIVELY ...to draw more attention to the choir, drop the levels of other tracks/instruments.

That said, I just want to say that I love what you are doing, regardless of what my own personal tastes dictate. ;)

I will reiterate the 'do whatever you want'; both versions are cool but I like the second a little better :)

That's weird, it sounds like there are 2 tunes playing at the same time.

Yeah, it sounds like a really really long delayed echo.  I just recorded it with Audacity, but maybe I accidentally did something to it.

Here's a super quick Synth'ed up title theme.

If you are feeling creative, experiment with one of Veigues' wonderfully minimalist, futuristic tunes.

I have also ranted about the glories of Dragon Spirit's and Legendary Axe's soundtracks.

I have always loved CyberCore's tunes (lamenting the fact that they are so goddamned short).

ANY CyberCore tune would be great, but let it go for at least 2 minutes!

And, I know it is predictable, but in Bonk's Adventure, all the songs are amazing, but I feel you could really do something with  "Cave Music" (Underground) -- all that bass and suspense should be fun to play with. Ending credits, Castle 2, Castle 3, dear Lord this game has great music.

Also for Bonk's Adventure:
The "Bonus Stage" and the "Secret Room" tunes -- they are too short, perhaps you can work some majik and add some synth solo to them?

I won't even mention JJ & Jeff...
