Ya its driven me crazy i never really played it, it was kind of a show model for my entertainment system but i felt like sticken in my dracula x and winds of thunder and it wouldnt play. Funny thing is, it worked the last time i used it perfectly so go figure.

Your laser might not be getting the correct amount of power (perhaps due to dead caps), or you might need to fiddle with the pots a bit; consult this thread for more information.  Sorry I can't be of any real assistance, but welcome aboard and good luck resuscitating your Duo.

I was told that when you install a new laser you have to desolder the contact point or it wont work. I have no idea what a contact point is. Could someone post a picture so as i may know what to do. Thanks

no solder point to remove if its a hop-m3. the error your getting might be from the lens guard. the long plastic thingy that goes over the lens that clips on to the mechanism.

try turning it on without it to be sure. if it works then you need to carefully place teh lens guard back on and make sure it doesnt cause friction between the laser when it moves. also make sure the cables that go to the laser are on tight. they can trick you that they are on good but will be loose. you should hear a snap sound when they go on right.

at that stage of a laser transfer so many things could go wrong. when you said error thats what clicked in my brain. we will go thru every step till its fixed  :D
