Turbo Pad Repair Cables
« on: December 16, 2009, 11:13:06 AM »
I know TZD went out of business a while back, but wonder if anyone knows where I might be able to get 2 repair cables for 2 Turbo Pads I have. I used their cables to mod 2 Avenue Pad 6's back in the day (probably about 8 years ago).

Most of their stock went to an ebay seller called 'Game Time Vault'. They currently have a few items on ebay. You might want to ask them if they have any more of the repair cables. I picked up some from them the last time they had some.

They have replacement cables listed right now.  They're labeled for use with Turbo Pads, but the pic looks like a mini-DIN plug to me, so you might want to ask for clarification.

Thanks, I sent the seller a question to clarify, but the description does specifically say Turbo Pad, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

No response from the seller yet, but after looking at the picture enlarged and then comparing to my current controllers, I'm pretty sure those are repair cables for Duo controllers.

At this point I'm wondering if it would just be easier to convert my 2 Avenue Pad 6s back to the small DIN as well as my other 3 controllers and Turbo Stick and get a PC Engine or Duo Tap, then take the cable from my Turbo Tap and use that on the Duo Tap...whew...I really wish they'd just kept the controllers the same for all systems  :x

Those are Turbo Grafx Repair Cables, not Duo.

If they are I'll buy some right now. Have you purchased some as well and they are verified as Turbo repair cables? Worst case I suppose I could resell them.

I went ahead and bought 2. The price was too good to pass up, and on really close inspection of the picture, the lighting is what makes the plug look smaller, but it is a TG16 cable and not Duo/PCE.
