turbo booster question
« on: July 07, 2005, 12:23:20 PM »
Did these things come with a/v cables or are those only sold separately? Also does anyone know of a site other than ebay that sells the turbo booster and/or the a/v cables for it?

I honestly can't remember if the TurboBooster came with the RCA plugs... but they're nothing fancy, just standard RCA plugs (red/white stereo and yellow video).

So if they didn't come with the booster could I buy cables that would work at a radio shack/best buy or do I have to get them on ebay?

Yes, Radio Shack and tons of other stores carry these cables, but you probably have them already!  RCA-jacks are the standard type of connection for hooking up stereo components and video equipment...

also, if you are going to purchase a TurboBooster, you might consider getting the TurboBooster Plus.  The "Plus" model adds battery back-up so you can save your HuCard games instead of using the password system.  Not all games utilize this feature, but depending on your gaming interests you might really appreciate this feature.

Thanks a lot for the info. Very nice to know I can get these cables at Radio Shack or wherever. I try to avoid ebay whenever possible. As far as me already having them, would they come with a dvd player or any other systems? And yes I am going to go with the Turbo Booster plus mainly for the Neutopia games. I love those games and all but they have the longest, most obnoxious passwords i've ever seen in my life. I don't mind the short "axe, heart, potion" passwords in the older Castlevania games but those ones in Neutopia are something else.

While we're on the subject...I just purchased a console by itself but would like to get a turbo booster plus sometime in the near future.  Can anyone tell me how much these generally cost?

They seem to be $20-$40 on ebay at the moment. I'm still looking for another place that sells them.

I'd grab the ones on ebay, if they remain under the $50 mark, since TurboBoosters don't show up outside of ebay (unlike turbopads and turbotaps, the TurboBooster wasn't widely stocked in stores). Of course, if someone knows of a source, please share the info!
