Google Wave Invites

I've been stacking up the Wave invites.  I gave a few away over at the magicengine forums. 

I think I'm back up to around 24 invites.  I know some people hate Google though so don't bash me too hard ;-)


Be good to have a nice PC Engine/Turbo wave going. 

Just post your email or pm me and I can send one out if anyone has been looking for one.

Oh, it's hard to explain.  In it's basic form it sort of like email and chat mixed together.  You just drop people into an email/wave and it's sort of like a real slow IRC.  However there tons of programs and things you can embed into a wave.  You can post most any content in a wave.  Videos, games, random funny stuff, probably some useful stuff too.

I always like playing with the latest stuff even if it sucks.  ;-) 

I think the "invite" thing is because it isn't even in beta yet.  So they want to be able to control how many people are on there right now so they don't blow up the servers and things, as a lot of stuff if probably pretty server intensive. 


Anyway, for a while there were not a lot of invites.  So I just thought I'd post this in case there were people that were waiting for an invite from Google or something.  But, I don't think they are as hard to come by at this point, but I just thought I'd throw this out there for people.

You can find public wave by using with:public in the search bar.

So for example if you enter:

with:public "PC engine"

You will find some PC Engine stuff.  There's a Yoshitaka Amano wave, etc.

No, you just go to gwave.com (or googlewave.com) and it's overall look is similar to GMail.  It's like GMail combined with Mark McGwire.  (Sorry couldn't resist)

Google Wave is simply a very fancy chat client.  If you like things like AIM, then you'll love Google Wave.  It does real-time translating and stuff.  As for people like me, it is very useless.

I can be like chat if you happen to be logged in to Google wave at the same time as another of your contacts, but the way I use it is more like Email.  I'm working on a programming project with 3 other people right now and we have a wave.  We communicate through the wave, but we are never really ever on at the same time.  So for that it is more like a much easier to read/organize email.  There is no chatting involved.  Though there could be if you wanted.  That and there is an app we use to flow chart stuff right in the wave.  We can updated the flow chart as the project grows and changes.  (we added classes and change functionality of classes mostly)

There are many different things you can do in a Wave.  While you can communicate in real time most of the things you do (I do anyway) with a Wave have nothing to do with chatting.
