Dynastic Hero Questions
« on: July 15, 2005, 09:53:15 AM »
Well, I bought the Japanese version of Dynastic Hero (from www.japangamestock.com) and have already come across a language barrier.  In one of the very early areas, there is a door with a musical note on it.  How do you get through those doors?

Thanks!
Games I Need: Bonk 3 (HuCard), Legend of Hero Tonma, Magical Chase, Soldier Blade, Super Air Zonk.

You need to learn and remember the melodies to play on your orcarina thing. If you have the orcarina, go to the town right before the spot you mentioned and talk to some chick inside a house; I think she has blonde hair. She teaches you the melodies for each door, so either remember them or write them down and then play them wherever the musical note platform is presented.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Hm...I don't even have the ocarina yet.  I just started the game.  Probably played about 15 minutes total.  I guess there must be somewhere else to go...

I forget exactly where you get the orcarina, but you should be on the right track. I think you might actually have to purchase the orcarina in that town. If you are still stuck and get stuck again, you can always go to GameFAQs and search for walkthroughs for "Wonderboy V", which is the same game only on different platforms. I hope this all helps you.

Anyone else find this part ridiculously hard?  I found the Ocarina relatively quickly, but the melodies seemed pretty complicated - had to write them all down (when compared to some of these OTHER games with Ocarina's where you could easily memorize the tunes....).

The first time I played the game, I had to write the melodies down, but when I played it more recently, I managed to remember the tunes by ear. They can be easy to figure out by the process of elimination.

I figured it out, K.  Thanks.

There isn't a lot of text in this game, but some knowledge of Japanese sure would help.  Luckily, there's a Wonderboy V walkthrough on GameFAQs.com in the Genesis section.

I too like the ocarina bits.  They're a bit tedious, yes, but I still like doing them.
