A sweet package, sure to make a Street Fighter / Turbografx fan happy.

It's at $49, with a few days left.

I got all excited when I saw Kisado but it's actually a Mirai adapter?
All is well. :)

That's right, that is NOT a Kisado. That is a Mirai.

My bad, I have a habit of calling all of the diving-board ones kisado.  Probably a bad habit when describing a sale.  =/

As far as I can tell Mirai adapters are just as good. Yes, Kisados are the most popular and recognizable but the quality of the Mirai(s) are comparable at the least. Hell, they were official adapters after all!

Kisados are better, as their sockets actually fit HuCards and don't scratch up their backsides as badly.

Hell, they were official adapters after all!

Um, no.

I was under the impression that they were. Thanks for the info.

I thought TTI/TZD made and distributed the Mirai adapters. Is this false???

Don't believe Kattare's listing; he's just trying to circumvent ebay's stupidly draconian rules on region converters (and rightfully so).

TZD did indeed sell Mirais, though they were originally made for telegames (or so the label printing leads me to believe), but that hardly makes them 'official'.  TZD also sold Implode, Meteor Blaster DX, and computer cables as controller extension cords, yet few would label those as official products either.

They're definitely not official NEC.  I classify them as official TZD merchandise because when I bought them I was told they came from TZD, which was granted marketing rights in the US by NEC, if I'm not mistaken?

And yea, It's annoying, I have to put that wayback link in there or the ebay spooks get all excited about "region converting" "video games", as they've been taught by their corporate masters that countries shouldn't share things unless officially allowed to do so.  Has nothing to do with trying to claim these as more official than any others or anything.  It's just the only way to keep my account from getting canceled again.  ;-)

Just to be very clear.  It is not my belief that TZD made these.  Only that they distributed them, granting them semi-legitimate status from an import gaming legality standpoint.  ;-)

In any case, I would not dissuade anyone reading this thinking that Mirai adapters are not a good alternative to region modding, or buying a PC Engine. If I had a chance to purchase a kisado on the cheap I probably would. I would also keep my Mirai as a back-up.

Thanks for the schooling though, Necro :)

I agree, my intention when asking about the converter was only to clarify to any potential buyer that it was a Mirai converter and not a Kisado..
