Controller Repair and cleaning
« on: June 12, 2010, 09:18:25 AM »
Any good suggestions for cleaning old PC Engine controllers? I got one recently and the buttons stick a bit and the D-pad is a tad less responsive than brand new. Any good dis-assembly and cleaning suggestions?

Take it all apart, soak and scrub the case and rubber parts in dish soapy water using a tooth brush, clean the contacts on the PCB with alcohol.

If you have yellowing, Retrobrite it.

I was wondering if anybody knows if retrobrite will work on yellowed Hucard sleeves.  I am getting a shipment of them and hope that I can get them clean.  If anybody has any suggestions on something else, let me know.

My guess is that it would, but you'll have to be the one to prove it.
