WTB/WTTF: Some PCE Super CD games
« on: July 04, 2010, 01:05:34 PM »
I'm really looking to get ahold of these games, so I figured that this would be the best forum to do it!  I am aware that they're valuable titles, so just PM me with your price and we'll take it from there.  I can either purchase them (via Paypal), trade for them with some items from my sale thread (http://www.pcenginefx.com/forums/index.php?topic=8339.0), or a combo of both.  I would prefer each game to have the jewel case, back insert and instructions, but I don't care about the spine card/obi strip..  Here they are:

Double Dragon 2
Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari (River City Ransom) *PENDING*

Here's my feedback:

Ebay Feedback  http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=smashed_brother&ftab=AllFeedback

Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you!

Argh, I placed this in the wrong forum!  Could one of the mods please move this to the PC Engine sales forum?  I'm sorry....geez, great way to make a first impression!

You like the beat-em-ups, eh? I'd personally like to have RRC. Le classic.

Hey now! :p  I've played both of these titles through *ahem* various means *ahem* and absolutely loved them.  I can get DD2 off of the 'bay, but I'd rather deal with someone in the community.  Downtown Nekketsu, on the other hand, is gonna be quite a challenge to find... :(

Wow!  That is actually pretty neat, but way too rich for my blood.  The last one I saw on ebay sold for $119 complete, about 2-3 weeks ago.  It was only up for maybe 2 days before somebody bought it, so I completely missed my chance.

119 is damn cheap for a cibler one. usually they sell around 150+ (in japan).

That's what I've heard!  I wish that I could've got that but I didn't have anything in my Paypal at the time.  Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky?

I got DoubleDragon2, but sorry...i just can't let that one go. It's probably my favourite adaption of DD2 ever made! It's actually easy to time the hyper-uppercuts + super knee attack compared to the NES version, and the arcade version didn't even have those moves. On top of that, some cool cutscenes, and an incredible soundtrack that back in the day i used to just listen to the CD on it's own! Anyways, i hope u get your hands on one soon! (i thought i saw someone post it for sale here, and very cheap...)  As for beat-em ups....avoid Riot Zone....it's a snoozer, boring chracter designs, lame levels....the music was "ok" i guess.

I've already played through this game quite a few times through emulation, but now that I have a proper system, I would rather play it on my tv.  It's definitely a fantastic game!  So is Nekketsu Monogatari.

Never planned on playing Riot Zone.....something just looked 'off' with that game!

If you're a fan of old-school brawlers, it's worth picking up anyway; it ain't worth much and is easily found for less than $20.  It's nowhere near as good as Final Fight or Streets of Rage, but the backgrounds are well done, the characters are big (if jerkily animated), and the tunes are pretty damn good, as one would expect of work from T's Music.
